I usually dont leave negative reviews, unless its warranted. We've been eating here for years. I do not know what has happened. The place was absolutely filthy. The dining room was dirty, the tables looked like they were wiped down with dirty water, the floor had napkins and silverware laying all over it, the line with the food on it was in complete disarray stuff spilled and all mixed together, and the place stunk like rotten fish. The bathrooms were gross to the point I took pictures, they had no iced tea which is my favorite there, the water the server brought out in the karaffe was so warm it immediately melted the ice cubes in my glass, our server was horrible, maybe she was having a bad day...we waited for our waters more than 10 minutes both times, then we waited for our server for 20 mins to pay our bill and another 10 for her to bring the change back, the floor by the grill was so gross the woman next to me waiting for her food to come off the grill lost her shoe because it stuck to the floor. The sink by the grill was literally running wide open for no apparent reason for the entire hour we were there...the more I looked the worse it got. We were there about noon, and it was not busy at all. Probably the least busy ive ever seen it. I understand things can get busy and cleanup is needed afterwards. But, there was zero excuse for the place to be in such a sad state. We love huhot, and even though I don't like leaving negative reviews, I hope this will reach management, and things will get fixed. We aren't cheap, we didn't complain and still tipped well, as we understand things can happen. We will try it again, and if things aren't better, we will not come back. We almost walked out without eating this time.

I normally do not rate huhots. Huhot is my absolute favorite restaurant of all time. Ive never felt like I've had a bad experience. Some are more meh than others. This was my 34th different huhot that I've eaten at. The service was ok. The food was an issue. They did offer very quality cuts of meat. Ive really never seen any better meat cuts at a huhot. That being said the food was extremely over cooked. I put 8 ladels on mine like I always do and couldn't even taste it. The food was just rubbery at that point. My girlfriend had her food put down long before mine and she got it way after me and another patron. They even tried to give her food from someone else. The order was not really followed like a normal huhot. She had to pull half of hers out because it wasn't ok to eat. I have one really big pet peeve which is why I am writing this review. They made very little attempt to clean the spatulas off after leaving them in the gross drip tray. It felt extremely unsanitary. Ive probably had huhot over 200 times and never seen it like this before.

Terribly understaffed. I came at 12.34pm and they told me it will be about 10 minutes wait. 20 minutes later I'm still waiting for a table even if there are 20 empty tables. During those 20 minutes they lost like 8 customers that left

Had lyfe as our server never had to ask for refills and would check on us often even though it was very busy while we were there .He fantastic

Having sick people work is bad for food service like yall need to send them home or let them stay home and stop try threatening them by saying they gotta stay cause manager don’t wanna close

I come here all the time and have since I was a kid when they first opened and I have never once had an issue with the food ever. Came in last week for dinner wasn’t real busy either. Me and my gf went up got our bowl of what we wanted and 2 guys were working the one mostly handled my gfs food and it came out fine no complaints I however got stuck with the guy with glasses and he burnt my food there was a line of people but that’s why there’s 2 guys not 1 and I got back to my table and found out when I ate the first few bites. I’m like okay first time that’s happened so I go up again when there’s like nobody in line with food and what do ya know its given to me again burnt. I’m honestly surprised no one else had this issue perhaps they didn’t care but if I’m paying $17 for the a meal it should be made correctly. Server did have manager comp my meal which is nice and i appreciate it but i was more so upset that my food was burned twice and i had to get something else to eat due to that somewhere else.

Only ordered takeout. I'm glad they have gluten free options available! They list the gluten free sauces on their website. There is an allergen chart but it hasn't been updated in over 10 years so I would trust the website more. If you are in a pinch and need something to eat that is gluten free (gf), I highly recommend! :)

I think there has been a change in ownership. A lot of turnover with staff and it just seems to be going downhill. We had to ask cook to cook our food longer twice. Probably won’t be going back unless we hear something else.

The cooks are great and very friendly. The service of the waitress was horrendous. I’ve worked in customer service, and understand that being short staffed affects how a job is done, but this was not an exception. Our waitress seated us, and forgot our silverware. We sat for several minutes as our food got cold, as she would dodge our table or go into the back room so we could not ask her. Eventually we got her attention. She did not come back and ask us if we needed anything, or take our empty plates off the table. After we waited 30 minutes for our bill, it was messed up. She went to fix it, and didn’t come back. We had to ask one of the cooks to grab someone to help us pay.
