Being the number one restaurant in all of Dubuque carries some weight, however only part of our meal was exceptional or at that level. The butter nut squash. With pear pizza. was extremely interesting and tasty the spinach Caesar salad extremely good the pepper steak soup depth with flavor and nicely done however, the Mediterranean pasta is extremely lacking flavor, taste, etc. this is why the rating is lower than we expected. The entree did not meet a level of number one. The white staff was extremely friendly, but kept forgetting to replace silverware. Hence a number one rating just cannot be excepted.

Amazing service from Lilly! Amazing food! Great quaint atmosphere! Was visiting the area and trust the Trip Advisor suggestions. So happy we went and highly recommend whether local or visiting!

Food is awful and tends to take way longer than it should. Still waiting after almost 45 minutes.

This is a … nice place to eat but I was expecting a bit better based on previous reviews. Reservations were for 5:30 and we arrived on time after a nice walk downtown. The staff throughout the evening were very pleasant. We were seated downstairs after being asked if that was ok (we thought it was because we were older?). It felt a lot like being in a dungeon! There was only one couple in the basement with us. Would recommend that if you are asked to go downstairs to decline (unless you are a large group and then it would be great). I had the pork loin with Korean BBQ sauce and curry rice. My wife had the risotto cake with chicken. Both of us agreed that the food was OK but unfortunately was not very flavorful. Wanted to really like everything but in the end would say it was just OK. It was fun trying a new place while in town. Wish them well

Loved this restaurant! Everyone was friendly from the host to our terrific waitress. I really wish I could remember her name so I could give her a shout out. My husband and I came on a Monday night in August and got the crab cakes and Caprese pizza. Everything was delicious and we took the leftover pizza back to our hotel room along with our Nutella cheesecake and had it for lunch the next day. I would definitely recommend you stop in when you're in Dubuque.

Great food great atmosphere and great staff recommend their thin crust Dubuque pizza and Brandy old fashions. Deserve to be number one in Dubuque

I had the supreme thin crust pizza. It compares favorably to pizza I have had elsewhere in the Midwest.

If you are in Dubuque and looking for an excellent place to dine, this is it. There is a very good reason it is the top rated establishment in Dubuque. High quality menu selections, great presentation, very good service and very nice ambiance. The menu has something for everyone without being pages long (always a dangerous sign) and priced reasonably. The hostess (Emma) is a darling always trying to accommodate special requests and ensuring her clients are having a nice experience. If you don’t try this place you are missing out.

knew going in that it was an expensive restaurant but felt like it would be worth it given the reviews. was highly disappointed. food taste/quality did not match the cost. the kicker was that they charged for refills on my kids lemonades. even chick-fil-a doesn’t do that!! and the lemonade size was a small coffee. while i realize that the service industry is suffering, this was the first time in the last 2 years that i felt annoyed about what i paid.

Wonderful! We had a delightful visit to L.May. The food and service was great! Even my picky eater kids ate everything right up! We will visit again when we are in Dubuque.

I'd like to start with these resturants in Iowa that act like they buy local food items, then you go in to eat expecting the menu to be local themed dishes I guess you could say. Open tge menu and there's seafood all over it. People of Iowa, I know people can't be as ignorant to think that the crab and shrimp migrate this far north of the Mississippi River. Shrimp, Crab, Lobster, on the menu with asparagus and zucchini that's not in season. Your gonna tell me this is a local themed resturant? Get the eff outta here. Iowasgot proble s when it comes to good food thats for sure. No-one ever came to Iowa to get the party started at all.

Staff was wonderful - very friendly and attentive. We had the pasta and filet minion. They were fine but nothing special. The Lime Caesar Salad was delicious.

I wouldn’t even send my worst enemy to this school. Don’t waste your time or money. Go to a school that deserves to have you!
