False Accusation and Public Humiliation
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Los Aztecas Asbury. My husband and I dined there on May 18th and upon leaving tonight June 6, we were wrongly accused of not paying our bill May 18, Despite immediately providing bank records showing that a payment had cleared, the staff continued to insist that we had not paid, causing a scene and publicly humiliating us in front of other diners.
The way this situation was handled was completely unacceptable. Instead of taking a moment to review the evidence we provided, we were treated as criminals and subjected to unnecessary embarrassment. This ruined what was supposed to be a pleasant evening.
While the food may be decent, the appalling customer service and the willingness to publicly accuse paying customers make this restaurant one I cannot recommend. Save yourself the potential humiliation and dine elsewhere.

We have been going to Los for years and lately we have been noticing that whenever we get chips and salsa to go, or in house the chips are burnt 90% of the time. If this can be addressed the food rating would be 4 4.5. Would appreciate if looked into. Thanks ?

Service was slow! We ordered and waited for 30 mins for our food. While a couple that came in 10 mins after us got their food 5 mins later with another server. Plus, our food was dry. There were only 3 tables!

The portions are not in line with the prices. (Specifically "lunch"portions) A chimichanga is no bigger than an egg-roll for 12$??? Carnitas had less than 3oz of actual pork, and about 6 oz of onions. This USE to scratch the itch for authentic, however it is completely missing the mark on portions/quality vs price. 8.99 for a bowl of day old queso....hard pass.

Exactly what you would expect of a midwestern Mexican restaurant.
Pretty mid food, some okay margaritas, and service that provides fresh chips and salsa.
Worth going to if you are hungry but don’t expect to get anything amazing.

Food was cold upon arrival to my table. Spoke to wait staff about the issue .The management allowed waiter to comp 1 beverage. Not impressed. In experience I'd say go to the location on Dodge in Dubuque . It is much better .

Had seafood enchiladas and black beans. The beans were amazing and the enchiladas were just standard seafood enchiladas. Nothing special but still good

Our server was Luis. We have had him a couple of times and he has been great! We always get the steak fajitas for 2. Very good size and well priced for the amount of food you get. We frequently get the burrito super crazy. Also very good but a little pricey. Burrito is massive though. So you will have lunch the next day.
Dietary restrictions: My dad always gets the steak fajitas and has them sub the beans and rice for other things.
Kid-friendliness: Waiter gave my son a sprite free on the house. It made his day.
