I would have to say this is definitely a gem of Dubuque. It being the oldest bar in Dubuque opened in 1933. Their burgers are an unforgettable delicacy as well as good memories for many of Dubuquers.

Stopped in for a burger based on the reviews . It was very good....thick and juicy. Icy cold Potosi beer to go with it. A dive bar, for sure. But, good burgers. And, $8 for a burger and beer - cannot complain

Cannot say enough about Paul's!! The burgers are DELICIOUS and the atmosphere is cool. The bartender (while we were there) does it all so have patience, its worth it!
