I would have to say this is definitely a gem of Dubuque. It being the oldest bar in Dubuque opened in 1933. Their burgers are an unforgettable delicacy as well as good memories for many of Dubuquers.
Stopped in for a burger based on the reviews . It was very good....thick and juicy. Icy cold Potosi beer to go with it.\n\nA dive bar, for sure. But, good burgers. And, $8 for a burger and beer - cannot complain
Our front desk clerk at the Hotel Julien recommended this place upon our evening arrival in Dubuque. She said it was walking distance rom the hotel, had good burgers, and was filled with taxidermy. We couldn't resist that description--quirky is right up our alley. And we weren't disappointed.\n\nIt was really close to the hotel, the burgers were amazing (and inexpensive), but that taxidermy was off the charts!
