Absolutely fell in love with their food from the Happi Hibachi truck and I am so glad that they have a restaurant now~ definitely some of the best food in all of Dubuque!

I ordered delivery since I was incredibly hungry and not feeling well enough to go get anything and have loved their food in the past. They advertise 20-30 min for delivery but today it took and hour and a half and me calling 3 times to check on it with very short and vague responses… I live 3 min from the restaurant and have ordered delivery before. I’ve noticed the last year the delivery time getting longer and longer but they still advertise 20-30 min, I could brush it off when it was 40 min and having to call once to check on it but and hour and half with 3 calls for 3 min away and a small uncomplicated hibachi order is kind of ridiculous. The third time I called I was told it was in the kitchen (1.5 hr after ordering) and when I asked for a refund the employee was very short and hung up on me. It’s a sunday, I ordered at noon and it’s now almost 2 and I’ve wasted so much time trying to get food and I’m back to square one. I’m sad because I really loved their food but I can’t trust getting updates on my order, having helpful customer service or even getting my food from here anymore I guess.

Pad Thai was not edible and had to sent back, and the red curry was ok but made with water not made with coconut milk or not the right amount. Chicken was also off like it was reheated and not fresh. This place is not what thai food is supposed to be. Very disappointing!

Pete's Thai is our favorite restaurant in Dubuque. We've been coming here for several years, and always receive good food and good service. Today's lunch was a gathering of six friends, two of whom had recent birthdays. Our orders included Cashew Chicken, a noodle bowl, a bowl of dumplings, Bahn nee Patt, and Hibachi Shrimp. The servings were generous, and everyone liked what they ordered. We had a great time together. And it's always fun. To see the Thai mythology painted on the walls and printed on the menus.

We were traveling through Dubuque and needed a quick lunch beyond regular midwestern fare and fast food. This place turned out to be a gold mine of delicious food. Our server took extra time to talk with us and explain the menu. Our order was to-do and she spent extra time making sure we had everything, along with ice cold water for the hot day. Very impressed with the flavors, portion sizes, prices and service! We will stop here again.

It's always sad to see a good place continue to slip downhill, but here we are. Pretty much the bottom now. Seems to be a dbq trend.

Very good food, nice size portions. Love the atmosphere and how clean it is. Also like the heavy silverware and glasses. Service is outstanding and Colleen is great. The only way it could be better is if they gave you tea and a cup of soup. Great job to all the staff.

If your favorite food is Thai, as is mine, and you have a lot of experience eating at authentic Thai restaurants, I would be seriously surprised if you liked Pete’s Thai.
In my 3 decades of eating and loving Thai food, this is the first time I’ve actually had bad Thai food. Flavorless and not authentic. It tasted like they used curry powder—if that’s untrue, I apologize, but that is exactly what it tasted like.
IF you are a person who prefers an Americanized version of Thai food that tastes like your white grandma made, then this is the place for you. (Pretty sure these are the folks who left all the good reviews—and, you do you.)
The service was not so great, either.
The atmosphere, building, and the decor inside was absolutely fun and lovely, however.

In my opinion, the best Asian food in Dubuque
.Everything is so flavorful and made fresh. Everything I’ve had has always been seasoned well. Pad See Yew is usually my dish of choice. My husband loves the curries. Also love the pineapple fried rice. Very cool atmosphere!
