Visited this restaurant for the first time on 9/16/2024 and found it very good in every way. We were seated fairly quickly and given menus and put in drink orders right away. Had the grilled cheese and tomato bisque combo = great choice. The sandwich had cheddar cheese, applewood smoked bacon and tomatoes on whole grain bread, totally delicious, and the soup was good, too. Others in the party had the Baja Tilapia Tacos, the chicken tender salad, and a burger. Everyone was very pleased and our server was very attentive.

First time here, our server was amazing, like our own personal attendant. She kept checking on us and, at the end, even mentioned the comps to use it all or lose it. Not that we needed 5 desserts to go, but it was great that it was brought up. The tilapia baja tacos were the bomb, omg so mouthwatering. I definitely will try this place again!

The service was excellent and there was a variety of dishes on the menu. My husband ordered the calamari and liked it and I, as a vegetarian, was able to order the grilled cheese sandwich without the bacon. The fries were excellent and the food was well prepared. I thought the grilled cheese could have had a little more flavor, but the cheese inside the Sandwich was excellent. They had a nice selection of beers and the bar appeared to have plenty of liquor selections.
Vegetarian options: They were not a lot of vegetarian friendly options on the menu, however, there was a grilled cheese sandwich that you could ask to have the bacon removed and there were a few appetizers that were vegetarian.

Date of Visit: 09/09/2023 - We loved the pea coleslaw side dish that came with the fish and chips - so much, in fact, we would go back just for the side (if possible). Reuben eggrolls were not worth purchasing; they over-mixed the meat so it lost all texture & there wasn’t hardly any sauerkraut at all, just meat and cheese - “flavor great, texture atrocious” from one member of our party, “like wet dog food.” The bourbon sliders were incredible; like eating caramel on the burgers.
Stay away. The rueben meat was literally the texture of raw ground beef and the chicken wings were fatty/mushy. Very yucky food for the price.
The food here always comes out quickly. Everything we’ve had is delicious.I recommend the Iowa Pork T sandwich with a side of their Korean BBQ sauce. The French fries are very good; the cheese curds are as good as any that you’ll come across.

It was below average. Everything was frozen and just reheated up.
Bad service and food .

My wife and I stopped for lunch at noon on Saturday 5/14/22. There is little on the menu for vegetarians so she asked for a cobb salad less bacon and chicken. Granted, a Cobb Salad without meat is pretty bland but this consisted of some chunks of yellow cheese, a chopped egg, and some romaine lettuce. I ordered rueben eggrolls that really didn't have much flavor, or I should say good flavor and the thousand Island dip had an odd taste. My Filament burger (just a cheese burger) came with some bread and butter pickles on the side (which I put on and took off due to the taste), some onion, and lettuce which was discolored. The burger had no taste and no seasoning. We left 80% of our meals untouched. On a brighter note, we had a decent server, my fries were tasty, and I did enjoy a good Potosi beer on tap. However, we have no desire to go back. That's 30 minutes and $40 we'll never get back.
I frequent the Diamond Jo on a weekly basis at minimum, but I've never tried the food at The Filament. Tonight I brought my girlfriend to join me with the intention of grabbing food to-go from the Filament as we head out. Granted I had zero idea they closed at 8pm on a Thursday, we stood at the entrance at 7:55pm looking at the menu. My girlfriend went to the restroom as I waited for her to return so we could order food. At 7:59pm she returns and we make our last glance at the menu. At this point the shorter server with gelled blonde hair asked us to step aside (we obliged) and she promptly closed the gates in front of us. When we asked if we're not allowed in for some reason she said "yeah, we close at 8." I looked at my phone and it was exactly 8pm. You really asked us to move, having seen us looking over the menu for a good deal of time, so that you could close the gates in front of us and tell us to leave? Amazing customer service. I imagine that's great for word of mouth and growing the brand. In my extensive years of customer service and multi-unit restaurant management, I would have made the easy decision had I seen this from one of my employees. Apparently we will not ever try food from here. Very sad that one bad egg ruins the general perception of the bunch that put in their time making the restaurant a welcoming experience. Very disappointed.
Taylor was the best server I have experienced in over 20 years, she was very attentive and very kind.I would recommend this place to everyone
Good food at reasonable prices. Liked the breaded pork sandwich.
The waitress Linda was great food was excellent I used my bank card and they over charged me by $12.00 because I did not add a tip we paid the waitress cash. So watch your payment.this was on 10/31/2021
