Was impressed with the scenery, but when we looked at the website, it said there's a bar and restaurant in the lodge. I booked the room for my wife's birthday and Valentine's day expecting to meet some new people and have a great time with my wife. After we checked in, my wife called the front desk to see when the bar would open. She was told that the bar was closed. Then she asked what time the restaurant would open and again was told that the restaurant was also closed. The pool table felt was torn and the ice machine had water sitting in it. We drove back into town and bought some gas station sandwiches, and stopped at the liquor store for some refreshments, then returned to the lodge. Our room was nice, but a little run down. The continental breakfast was what we expected. It's a beautiful set up, but I hope someone takes over and puts it back to the place it obviously used to be.

Website also said there was only one room left for today, and we haven't seen anyone other than the front desk guy. Gal at the liquor store thought the place had closed. Oh well, it's definitely peaceful!

I would give this place -10 but the lowest I can give is a 1 for starters the woman at the front desk is rude she handed me my key and pointed to the parking lot and said your room is out there got to my room there was no phone in the room if you dont have a car you will starve to death there are no food delivery services in the area I call the front desk from my phone 5x anddid she know of any place that I can get food she said no mind you y hgv eye have breakfast in the morning I told her I was very hungry and get not get any food delivered the wonan never even offered me a piece of bread I will never stay at this place again

Loved the quiet, serene setting and the friendliness of the staff. Wonderful lodge set back among woods and with views our into the open grounds and of the golf course. Staff was attentive and helpful. The room was large, filled with classic furniture; the bath was huge with whirlpool tub and a shower. A great place to unwind.
Love Forest Cities unique hotel. Step back in time somw units are huge! My son will be a senior at Waldorf and I stay here most times :) Outdoor and tranquil setting right near Winnebago Industries. Best lodging in town

Beds could be updated.. There a little on the hard side.. Other than that my room was clean and I didn't have any disrespectful guests in other rooms.. I recommend the lodge stable if your traveling with one or two people and just want to be away from the actual hotel..

The minute I walked in, I though I was back in a better time. The only thing this place needs is an entertainment director. And a new felting on the pool table. The breakfast was a simple continental. Prices were moderate. I wished we could have had the time to enjoy the canoes.
