In Decorah, we heard that the best fried chicken was at The Fort in Fort Atkinson. So we made the 15 mile trip. It was worth it. The broasted fried chicken is crispy and juicy.

The staff were so kind and fantastic. I love the small town feel and how they treated the regulars and the newcomers. My coffee was always full and was checked on regularly. I kid you not, the absolute best fried pickles I have ever had. This was my first time, but I know this will be a stop every time I'm in Fort Atkinson or Calmar.
