Had a really great dinner here. Lots of intriguing things on the menu and good variety of sides. I had the pulled pork sandwich - there was something else unique about it but I can't quite remember what now - and some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had. We were both just really happy with our food. I enjoyed trying a couple of different lagers of theirs too. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. Hope we can come back again sometime!

Awesome place with beautiful brick and tile. Good beer, too. Awesome views of Fort Madison. While we eating, three trains went by and entertained our young kids. Fun to try duck and eat fish right by the Mississippi! All the duck pictures were fun to look at too.

After being told to seat ourselves, we waited 20 minutes and didn't get menus or drink order. We left.

It happened again! Started out at the Lost Duck for dinner. The place was empty save for our party of two and one other table I think. We waited a while for menus and when I asked the waiter how long the merlot had been open, he said "a couple weeks", with a shrug. I was certain that I would not be drinking there and probably no food either. I asked if he would be willing to open a new bottle and his response was direct and to the point, which I appreciated. Nope, he wouldn't and since it was Sutter Home, how good would it be anyway? We were welcome to go somewhere else. We did! Went to the Fort Diner and had a great! Cheap! Cajun! Burger! Great service, lots of friendly personality at the grill and I'll go back again! Any day! Thank you for the meal!

Absolutely terrible service from beginning to very abrupt ending! The waiter/bartender/?whatever else capacity he as serving was very rude as well as sarcastic. We sat in the front section with bar and there was no one else eating there and only one person at the bar. Waiter was very tied up talking to person at the bar and after bringing menus he went back to his bar customer . We looked and decided and closed our menu in hopes that he would understand that we were ready to order. After about ten minutes he finally came over. Asked about wine and if it was freshly opened or not and he said it was older and he could not open another bottle until the OLD ONE WAS FINISHED. So we said that he could be serving bad wine and then he mentioned the name brand(not high end to say the least) to which my friend said, " so you're implying that it wasn't that good to begin with?" Waiter said yeah, something like that and told us that we could "always drink water " He had a smirk on his face-I guess he thought this was funny. I asked my friend if she wanted to go somewhere else and she looked at the waiter and said we could always go somewhere else to eat. He looked at her and laughed and said " yes you can! " We left and took our business elsewhere. This employee has been there a long long time. Maybe he is burned out.

So, there's a little k own fact to those of us who love good food. The Lost Duck has had a great menu. It only has one server. The menu is more than bar food. The views are some of the best anywhere. So let's talk about it.The Food: from sandwiches and wraps to salads and burgers to dinners; they really offer a range. The specials were Shrimp Scampi and the The Duck Sampler for two. That's two slices of duck bacon, two sausage, two duck wontons, two macerated duck croquettes (mini pies). With two dipping sauces, with a side of Pub style Mac and cheese, We also ordered the fresh fried chips as an appetizer. This was an adventure on a plate. They do carry Pepsi products. They have great craft seasonal and traditional pilsners, ales, and stouts. The sampler is six small servings of all. They do carry Pepsi products. You seat yourself, and we ordered water since they were out of any low calorie non-alcoholic beverages. Our appetizer quickly arrived with a bit of a wait for the sampler. Overall, we had good service. The Atmosphere: While the upstairs is always an option for more privacy than the downstairs, we sat next to the front windows to e joy the view of Riverview Park and the Fort Madison. There's no music, so you can have great conversations and enjoy your company or meal.Overall, it is a local secret for a good dining experience. The burgers weren't mentioned, but you can get a 1/4 or 1/2 pound for $9 to $14.

The sandwiches and sides were excellent. Try the unique mac and cheese. I would also recommend the Ring Neck Red beer.

We are visiting Nauvoo and drove up here for dinner. The first two places we tried were closed. We stopped in here and I had one of the best Rueben sandwiches ever! My son also recommends the the queso burger.

Nice location. Fiancé took me there to try it for a Friday date night. Had to speak to the bartender ourselves (not greeted) then waited 17 minutes without so much as a glass of water or an apology for not acknowledging us. We left. Disappointed. Was hoping to sample the menu.

Nice! Ordered shrimp scampi and expected a giant plate of noodles and a couple shrimp. Nope. Proportions are so balanced, generous 8-10 large shrimp, lovely butter sauce and a perfect serving of angel hair that wasn't over cooked or sticky. Crunchy delicious bread. Slice of lemon. Worth doing.
