Paid $56 dollars for 10 tacos and a side of rice. Didn’t have access to the menu since it was a call in order but asked for a to go menu when I picked it up. It would have been nice if the person taking my order would have suggest we order in meals vs Ala Carte everything. Was $15 difference plus less food, seems shady to take advantage of call in out of town orders.

Atmosphere is wonderful. Their customer service is always really great and on point. Their food is where they lose most people. If you are not used to Tex-Mex food, this is not the place for you. Its simplistic and straight to the point. Not a lot of flavor, but decent. If you are just looking to scratch that itch for some Mexican food this could be the place for you.

Absolutely tasteless, the bring you "salsa" but no chips because you have to buy chips. The salsa is not what I would call salsa. The food taste like they shop at Aldi, buy the junk canned stuff and cook it all in the microwave. ?

Obviously my opinion is biased because I worked here off & on for years but it tastes exactly like mexican food from the MIDWEST should taste! It's not exactly authentic Mexican cuisine but it is delicious & consistent. I love Amigos, the salsa, enchiladas and soft shells tacos will always be my favorite

Stopped by Vel's Amigos while in town for the rodeo. The place was slammed and only staffed by two waitresses but they where moving. We were still sat right away, had chips and drinks, and our order in within 15mins. Well done. For the chips the homemade flour are worth the $4 Standouts on our meal were the tamale and chili rellano, with an honorable mention to the enchiladas. Any of the corn stuff, chips and hard tacos were not great. But over all very good service, solid portions for the price, and a few wins.

They tried very hard to make this authentic Mexican food. They kindly allowed us to pay for their corn tortilla chips that are normally free at Mexican restaurants. The corn tortilla chips were cooked too well and the salsa had a lot of tomatoes. Our waitress was great and responsive. The service time was good. There was a lot of cheese. If you’re worrying about food being too spicy, don’t worry about that here, as they don’t use much seasoning

I just don't like how they prepare food. I can't find anything that I think they make better than I do at home.

I've been going here for as long as I can remember. The food is good, drinks cold, and staff friendly. The owner Andrea is a great person. Stop by and try it out!
