Hibachi used to be good. They need to make it self serve like the Ankeny store. You have to beg them to give you sauce noodles and vegetables .

We came here from Altoona to specifically to eat at this location planning to have a delicious breakfast. The hostess took our drink order and they were brought by "our waitress". She didn't bring a drink for our kid so we asked her for one. She said she would get it and then come back to take our order. We sat there for almost 20 minutes while three tables seated after us got their orders taken. We decided to leave at this point. We have always loved this Hyvee and were pretty disappointed. Instead we went to Corner Cafe in Urbandale. They have amazing food and I recommend this place to anyone looking for a local breakfast place! The service is wonderful!

I shopped in Grimes this afternoon and I feel their young adult check out staff could use more Training! The person at the register rarely ever gives you a discount for bringing your own reusable shopping bags $0.05 discount/ bag, with out asking and them they don’t all give it to you! And the person sacking the groceries sometimes if you don’t have enough reusable bags put 1-2 items in each plastic bags ! What a waste!!! Please spend the time to train Your Team Properly!! Hy Vee your grocery prices are high enough to do better for Your Customers…

I shopped in Grimes this afternoon and I feel their young adult check out staff could use more Training! The person at the register rarely ever gives you a discount for bringing your own reusable shopping bags $0.05 discount/ bag, with out asking and them they don’t all give it to you! I have been doing aisles on line for probably a year and I NEVER get a correct order, EVER! I have called and complained almost every time and I’m DONE! There are too many options to pay these prices to never get an order right. We ordered two cans of Hy-Vee cut green beans and got two cans of Smart french style green beans. Never once got an email. They did show a substitute on my whipped cream but never asked me, just saw it after I picked up groceries. Last time my sugar was so hard it wouldn’t come out and they couldn’t fulfill a six pack of Hershey bars!! You don’t have six Hershey bars at a register you could sub for the same price. Those are only a very few things. Not to mention smashed bread. I could complain again, but clearly it’s not doing any good.
