Most Midwest dining is pretty terrible from my experience. Willie’s is no exception. The food is never cooked well, it’s under seasoned and has a nice freezer to microwave taste. The servers are fantastic as long as you look like a regular or are there to drink (which, unlike most in this town I actually don’t have a drinking problem). The low carb option is a pathetic piece of rubber chicken breast that tastes like it’s been boiled and refrigerated and microwaved. It even comes with a rubber like consistency and warm cottage cheese. Good news though, it’s probably the best place in town!Dietary restrictions: You’re better off eating at home if you have any dietary restrictions, it is like that for most restaurants though honestly.Kid-friendliness: It’s a bar, don’t bring your kids…
We were in the area visiting family and found Willie's. What a great place to unwind and enjoy some very good food and drinks. They accommodated eight of us and the service was outstanding. Everyone gave thumbs up on every order.

My party of 4 and I dined here on Saturday, February 11. There were 6-7 people in the place. Not busy at all….The cheeseballs were burnt and hard - I didn't know you could mess up cheeseballs. Yet, here we are.I ordered a bacon cheeseburger - I took one bite of the cooked-to-leather burger. When these concerns were brought up to the server, she apologized and walked away. Clearly, the food was not good, ALL but 3 cheese balls were still in the boat and only 1 bite or the ‘burger’ had been eaten.$86 for 4 people to eat in a bar, in Hampton, Iowa - unreal!Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice? NEVER.
