Lauri has made cakes for me on several occasions. The first was a nonprofit volunteer appreciation event. I gave her a picture of the fresh flowers we were displaying and she was spot on in matching the cake to the night's theme, and it was both beautiful and delicious.This year, I gave her a super challenge to create cakes with a Tardis from Dr. Who for each of my children graduating -- one from high school and one from college. One chocolate, one vanilla.Everyone at the grad party asked me where we got the cake and commented on how delish it was -- not like generic cakes sold elsewhere.Lauri will try in her own kitchen until she gets it right, and when she delivers, it's always spot on. She is only going to grow in this area as a baker.
