Delicious homemade breakfast. Filing! low prices. Only issue is they need real half and half for their coffee. Nice people!

Stopped in from out of town. Was awesome. Pancakes were a plateful and delicious. 2 egg omelette with everything was also great. Got a homemade apple pie to go, fresh from the oven.
My small town in Wisconsin would be lucky to have a place like Jimmy D's. We traveled to Hawkeye to meet up with a friend from central Iowa and to visit a well-known local plant nursery (a must-see attraction!). Hawkeye is tiny town with a lot of splash of character and local charm and Jimmy D's fit the bill as the perfect place for us to meet for lunch. Service is gracious, welcoming and friendly, the menu is full of all your favorite bar foods and more (we wish we were there for dinner to try the steaks, which others in town raved about), and the atmosphere is cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed a long visit over burgers and sandwiches. I'd like to come back to see the place when it's hopping with live music. Places like Jimmy D's give real heart and substance to small town living.
Went in 2013. We were from out of town staying in West Union. Came here for breakfast. Worst coffee I've ever had. I don't know how you'd make coffee that lousy. Tasted watered down and months old? Food not much better. Dead gnats(?) all over bathroom sink. All the other diners stared at us when we came in like we were aliens, employees just as 'friendly'. Should have traveled farther before stopping for breakfast.
