We refer to this as the bar in the "middle of nowhere". Nice place just south of Ames. The thick crust pizza is awesome! They have lots of unique and fun combinations. Several TV's to watch sports on as well as a large TV projector. Reasonably good prices and decent speed of service.
I went to R Place Pub and Pizza tonight for the very first time. I was impressed. The pizza was exceptional, as was the quick service and atmosphere. What a gem of a restaurant / pub located only 4 miles from Ames. I will be back. :)
Our first experience was amazing so we couldn't wait to get back. 2nd time around it was ok as the pizza was undercooked and our desert pizza tasted of garlic.We'll try again assuming this was just an off night.
