Staff was short handed today. Place was packed, but that didn't stop the excellent food and the great service. Server kept coffee and drinks topped off well. There were 6 of us with the American Legion riders out of Ottumwa... we highly recommend this place.

I miss these types of small town restaurants. They always have the best food! Delicious biscuits and gravy like my gramma made. Best breakfast burrito i ever ate! Amanda was the server, she's so personable, makes you feel comfortable like you're a regular even if its your first time there. Everyone probably knew eachother, it was packed on a Saturday at 11am. I know why, great service, great food, hometown community vibe.
Recommend the biscuits and gravy and the breakfast burrito.

I really wanted to like the food here. The waitress was so nice and gave great service. Definitely a local restaurant. It seemed like everyone was enjoying their food so maybe we just ordered the wrong thing. There might have been a reason why they told us they serve breakfast all day and that their sandwiches are wonderful. We should have listened to them I guess. We wanted BBQ. It wasn’t just bad it was horrible. The brisket was some of the worst I have ever had. The burnt ends were so chewy. The ribs were okay but not tender. Try their breakfast or maybe sandwiches but do not order their BBQ. Try a different place.

Very nice and servant minded staff. The person joining me was 45 min late. The ladies kept my coffee cup full and never rushed me even though being a busy Saturday Morning. that table should have turned over 3 times in the amount of time we occupied it.

This is one of those hidden gems you really want to find. Located in a residential neighborhood, you'd never find this just driving through town. It's only open for breakfast and lunch. My folks have taken me here multiple times. I always enjoy it. It does get really crowded but their service is friendly, the prices reasonable, and the smoked sandwiches amazing! On our last visit I had the smoked turkey which had a bold, sweet, smokey flavor. So incredibly tasty. There are a variety of sides to choose from. I love their breaded mushrooms, the fried pickles and the onion rings. I've also enjoyed other sandwiches including a tenderloin, cordon bleu and a Reuben. I'm told the breakfast is also really good.
