El Rey serves better Mexican food than your typical small town joint, but what really does it for me is the staff! Incredibly kind and efficient in their work, always smiling and checking in on me/us. Definitely a great addition to Knoxville!
The food hit the spot. Yum. I understand it's Mexican cuisine, but my party of 6 had a hell of a time communicating with our server, who seemed to speak very little to no English. Besides the language barrier, we all enjoyed our meals.
Best food in town, hands down. We go here frequently and they are always accommodating to my family (we have little ones). Food is always hot and fresh. And, their fries are comparable to McDonald's fries. Our son always gets their cheeseburger and fries! Chori Pollo is my favorite! We love it here.
