If I could give negative i would even one star is pushing it.. this placed before it reopened was great the food was fresh and homeade the chef was amazing for bar food! Last time I went they served me lukewarm chicken nuggets with sauce on top.. not kidding that they microwaved... the burger was a frozen patty from Walmart probably up the street.. just not good not fresh really miss the old wackos and the cook because this isn't it.

My family needed to eat dinner last night so my mom called wackos and asked for our order to be made and ready to go by 4:45 which was an hour from the time she called. Other places will take our order and make it a few minutes prior to pickup fresh and we’ve done that with wackos previously. When my mom called the lady she spoke to on the phone was rude and disrespectful, my mom had asked for the fried chicken dinner but all white meat and if it’s an extra charge that’s fine. The lady was rude and explained she’d been in trouble the last time she did that. My mom said I’m sorry but you can charge me extra my dad doesn’t like the dark meat so only white please. Begrudgingly the lady said fine after speaking with another staff member. At the end of the call before hanging up and hearing the order read back my mom confirmed again it will be ready by 4:45? The lady said well our cooks already making it, taken back my mom said please remake it closer to pickup time so it’s fresh. The lady said whatever and hung up. When I went to pick it up for my mom I asked the lady if it had been remade like requested? She told me no they were making it when my mom called and so they finished making it and set it aside, so it had been sitting on there counter with no heater exposed to the open air where customers sit at the bar for an hour!!!!!!! Angry I said it needed to be remade immediately! She gave me attitude and said she’d get the owner, the owner didn’t speak to me but the cook came and got the food to remake it. My mom on the phone with me at that point had been annoyed by the audacity and rudeness said never mind we no longer want their food and they will be losing our business permanently!! So I hope all of you have a better experience but I for one am beyond infuriated that they would allow our food to sit for an hour on the counter where other customers could touch it and have the level of rude and disrespectful attitude they had. You work for tips, tips come from those who like your work and attitude so I was shocked how she reacted. Her jobs to serve and yet she acted like I was a stain she didn’t want to bother with. I will never be returning to this awful establishment who would allow this level of service. Good luck to you if you go there.

The food here is so delicious! I had steak deburgo melt your mouth and the seasoning is amazing. They bring it out on a cast iron pan hot and sizzling! It only costs $21.99!! My husband had the cavatili it was also delicious. This is our second visit since a new owner and cook. If you are skipping coming here you will regret it. In my opinion this is the best restaurant in Knoxville! They also have hotbeef! Hot Turkey etc. It all taste like they have a Top Notch Chef cooking! I know they struggled a little in the beginning but all those issues have been resolved. On Fridays they have.all you can eat walleye can't wait till we try that next! If your a local or here for the races this is a stop you want take! Ps seniors there is a special menu for you I think it's like $10 ars or so and it Includes soup or salad main course and dessert!

Very delicious food- great selections! We got the Jalapeno poppers, which I highly recommend. Then I got the Reuben sandwich with fries and my wife got the club sandwich- both were very good! I also got a chocolate malt which was quite tasty! I definitely want to return and try the wings and one of their fish fry Fridays! They just opened a large outdoor seating area which will be perfect as the weather is warming up.
I’ll definitely be back.

We went to Wackos today with good friends who frequent this restaurant at least once a week. I must say we probably wouldn’t had stopped BUT so happy we did!! I felt I was eating a wholesome home cooked meal right out of my mama’s kitchen. How often do you find homemade soup, dressings and pie!!! Plus, where do you find a meal for $10.99 that includes pie!!!
One minute you’re out in a cornfield and the next thing you know you find an excellent restaurant with wonderful people in a town you’ve never heard of and place you’ve never seen before.
This happens more in Iowa than you might imagine and if someone wrote a book about it, WACKOS would definitely have its own entry.
Unique home made soups (chicken cheese tortellini and bacon cheeseburger were available the day we came) and a varied menu topped off by helpful friendly staff made our visit fantastic.
I don’t think you’ll be sorry you stopped even if you thought (like we did) that we were just going to Pella … the place we planned to go to there had closed early.
I’m glad they did!

The food was good, but an employee complained loudly about another employee at quite some length. Unprofessional to say the least, especially when the other employee was not there to defend themselves.
