Best thing on their menu: Chili in a bread bowl. It’s literally perfect!

Tried this place for lunch since we are from out of town and had never heard of one. The food was excellent and the service was phenomenal! I unfortunately didn't get here name, but the woman who was working the counter had great customer service. She was working 9/12/25 around 1pm. She took the time to talk to us and see where we are from. The view of the river was also a really incredible backdrop as we ate.

Got charged $1 for cheese. Really! I mean it's just cheese it's not like it's a add-on topping. Other than that this place is fine. Great cake!

A must-stop if you’re traveling from Chicago to Iowa!
This place offers not only delicious food but also a stunning view of the majestic Mississippi River . The service is wonderful friendly, attentive, and full of warmth. It’s the perfect spot to take a break, recharge, and enjoy a memorable experience that blends great taste with breathtaking scenery.
Highly recommended! 🍽️

Consistently good food every time. I have fond memories of this restaurant from my college years when they had an Iowa City location. We were happy to find this location right on the river. Great view!

Service was good, the kids working were professional and polite…but Hungry Hobo has scaled WAY back on their meat portions. Paid 10$ for a bread sandwich with 2 paper thin slices of turkey, pretty disappointing. Seems to be a common theme with all the Hungry Hobo stores. Unfortunately I think we are gonna avoid the Hobo for a while.

28 minutes to get a grilled chicken sandwich. Worst one I've ever had at HH. Done with that and still waiting on my cheddar fry. 10 minutes since sandwich was delivered. Won't be back.
Update: never got cheddar fry. Went up and asked for refund as I watched them deliver some to a couple that just got there but I was waiting for 40 minutes. They gave zero apologies.

Did you change your roast beef? It’s not been very good lately.

Rubbery Roast Beef. Grossed out. Enchilada soup was excellent. I think their meat product could improve. Other than bad beef it could be 5 stars.

The worst sandwich in town. Low quality, extremely small portions, and literally the most expensive sandwich you can buy. Truly, go anywhere else... anywhere! Grilled chicken sandwich and fries.... $16.80 see pics!
