Outstanding little restaurant in small town southern Iowa. My dad and I went on a fishing trip here but because of the rain I think we spent more time at The Barnyard than we did on the lake. All the wait staff are amazing. So friendly and kind. I really liked the solid oak tables and chairs. The food was good. Just an enjoyable time. Loved meeting all the locals. It kind of felt like we were part of the family.
This restaurant did not disappoint! From the friendly customer service to the delicious food, everything was excellent. I ordered the patty melt, and our son had a hamburger both were served hot, flavorful, and of excellent quality. The fries were perfectly crispy, and the presentation of each dish was charming. The atmosphere was homey and friendly. The service staff was nice. The dining area holds maybe 30-35 people. The food was good. I always enjoy a place that serves gizzards. My little country heart. My husband and I had the special, which came with candied carrots. They were amazing! I don't typically care for cooked carrots, these tasted like sweet potatoes. Just so delicious.
