My daughter and I stopped here for supper on a Friday night. We sat down at our table at 6:15. It was almost 6:30 before our waitress came to the table with waters and menus. The place was full but not crazy busy as both waitresses had time to stand by the register and stare at us for almost 15 minutes before approaching our table. Finally we get our order taken around 6:30. We both ordered burgers, fries and salads. The waitress was very rude - kept interrupting us as we were ordering asking if that was everything. She didn’t ask what kind of salad dressing we wanted or what we wanted on our burgers and seemed super annoyed when we told her our choices. 6:45 we got our drinks. By this time our waitress had been to the table behind us 3 times, asking how their food was and bringing them to go boxes. The people that walked in the door right ahead of us when we got there not only had their food but were almost finished eating. At one point the waitress was actually sitting at a table talking to the people that were sitting there eating. 6:50 - still nothing. Not even our salads. Finally at 7:00 - at least 45 minutes after we sat down, we threw money on the table for our drinks and left. We then drove to Onawa to the Mexican restaurant where we had excellent food and service - spent over $80 there between food and drinks which clearly the Beef and Brew didn’t need as they could have cared less about us as customers. In one review of this place the owner mentioned she must be doing something right as she’s been in business over 40 years. Of course she has - it’s a small town with 2 places to eat. Not much competition there, and a lot of older folks who don’t want to or can’t drive out of town for anything better. I can’t review the food because I never got any, but I can’t review tell you that the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired as does the lady that waited on us - I’m told she’s the owner’s sister. I think it’s time for her to retire unless she’s always been that unpleasant. Oof!

Waited for 45 minutes, only received a drink and a horrible attitude from the waitress. Every single table, including the one that walked in right ahead of us, had their dinners meanwhile we hadn’t even received salads. Both waitresses stared at us, simultaneously avoiding us. Nothing like small town hospitality..but only if you’re local. Left hungry and unhappy.

Great small town atmosphere with really friendly patrons and staff. Our food was delicious and hot. It took some time, so plan on waiting for a bit, but with a group it was a good time to catch up and reminisce.
I love this place.. my grandfather brought me here when I was a little kid so memories are a big factor. ( even tho they were next door then)It's like being at a family dinner. Portions are good and food is good as well.
