The steak size I found to be smaller than before. The filet part of the Porterhouse could have been covered with a silver dollar, the filet part of the T-bone was smaller than a quarter.

We love our trips to Rubes! Regardless of what my husband claims, the steaks he cooks at Rubes are far better than at home! The sides and potatoes, oh the potatoes! If you leave hungry you’re a fool! So great! And oh you’ll be full, but take a dessert to go! Your future self thanks you!

The food was very good and the service was excellent. Rubes is a higher end Steakhouse. Don't go thinking about planning on saving money. Go and enjoy. Get what you want.

It had been about 30 years since I’d been there and wanted to take my wife. It was just like I remembered it. Unlimited potatoes and bread, giant juicy steak. We had a good time grilling and chilling.

Absolutely spectacular! You do have to cook your own steak, not something I'd want to do every time I went out, but is a fun change of pace. Appreciate the old "Supper Club" atmosphere. Meat and side dishes and excellent quality.

Rube’s is amazing. We stopped in for dinner on our way from Dyersville to Des Moines. The town of Montour is so small. The restaurant is about the only thing there outside of the post office. The restaurant concept of picking out, seasoning, and cooking your own steak was so unique!! The steak and the food were amazing. Our server was attentive and helpful. I wished we lived closer because we would visit this place often. Highly recommend if you are in the area. I would also recommend reservations to ensure an enjoyable experience.
