I used to love Pizza Ranch in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, but lately the experience has been disappointing. The service has become slower, and the buffet rarely has enough pizza or chicken to feed the number of customers.
Tonight was especially frustrating. The signs said to “please be patient while we switch from Coke to Pepsi,” but no one mentioned that none of the drink options were actually available. When we asked the staff, all they could say was, “We have what’s left open.” That meant flat Mello Yello, Strawberry Fanta that tasted like diet soda, and not even water was available.
To make it worse, we were still charged full price for the meal. I’m really sad to see this restaurant decline so much from what it used to be.

Absolutely nothing to complain about at this location. Clean, Friendly and all food items were available during our noon meal. This is our favorite Pizza Ranch for lunch.

The salad bar had stuff that was warm, and macaroni salad was sour and not good at all. I'm not really trying to run the place down, but it was just no good. Read the reviews. I wish I would have. Everything tasted bad to me. Was not happy at all. Chicken was so overcooked and was like trying to bite through leather.. looked like it had been twice cooked. Pizza was all but nonexistent.. had very little and no me sat out while we was there. I won't go on, it just plain was no good. Sadly, Not a Good Place!
Was nice of them to refund me, Ended up sick halfway home. Had to stop in Ottumwa to get some Peptol, I felt terrible. Ended up vomiting.. my wife kept saying I should have went to the ER. I honestly think I'm done with all the Pizza Ranches..
SAVE YOURSELF THE SICKNESS... GO ELSEWHERE.

I got there at about 11:30 and the line waiting to get in was back to the door. There was no chicken, no dessert pizza, and lettuce needed to be refilled. This is the first time I have ever left a buffet and was still hungry! It was an awful expensive salad! Went up to order a pizza to go and still no dessert pizza and only one small piece of chicken that looked like it was a part of a back or a broken thigh. Once to go pizza done I left. I used to love pizza ranch but this experience may make me think twice about going back.

It was hard to find a clean table. The clean up crew then stepped it up and were quick to pick up dirty dishes. Good food. Wish the area around soda was a little cleaner, the floor was sticky, but that is hard with kids and others who may spill. Wasn't asked if I wanted a certain pizza. Maybe that isn't done anymore. Missed Garlic Cheese!

This location is an awesome place to eat. Nice selection of pizza and delicious fried chicken during buffet hours. Mashed potatoes, vegetables, and salad bar is all delicious. Coca cola products are here and some tasty raspberry tea compliments your meal. Very well priced for everything. Come and have a bite here. You won't regret it.👍
