You could say we four traveled from Minneapolis and Milwaukee just to meet for lunch at The Plantiful Pantry in Mount Vernon, IA. It turns out, that was indeed a major highlight of our trip! This is my favorite restaurant in the Cedar Rapids area. I haven’t had a single thing that I haven’t liked. My favorites so far have been the macaroni, nachos, tempeh toast, heirloom tomato toast and the honey mustard chicken salad. Everything is so good and fresh! I love that they have items to go also since I love to grab some items for the week.
This place is a hidden gem. If you have allergy this place is wonderful. I often struggle to find food that is dairy and gluten free.
The owner was so accommodating to helping me identify what could be gluten free and even made some recommendations.
