This great bar and Maytag blue cheese store is inside the old Maytag hotel. The hotel is now apartments and also has a gift shop. There is a full bar so while we shopped for our cheese, we had a couple of fantastic martinis. They have a small appetizer and charcuterie menu.I grew up in Newton years ago, this is a great renovation on the square!
My husband and I love coming in to see Dan, Leesa, & staff!Best place in town for a cocktail and conversation! Service is always awesome and the charcuterie boards are beautiful done.Keep an eye out of special events too they are a blast!

Super nice lady was running the place and I was in there for one thing and one thing only: Maytag Cheese! Getting Maytag cheese in the hotel. Maytag? Are you kidding me? Is there anything else on this planet that make you prouder to be an American in Iowa? I think not.
