Pulled in to the drive thru after 7 am this morning, open sign was on but drive thru board wasn't lit up and no one responded, so I left and went elsewhere

Rude to employees u call the store to ask about something and u got the manger Randy going off about a coworker saying bad things about that person isn’t a proper way of management or a way to answer phone if I was corporate I’d fire my staff and rehire new

Takes too long to get food that is too expensive for what it is.

Employees are rude and try to rush when you’re trying to order. You get interrupted multiple times while you’re trying to talk. I guarantee you’ll be missing items or something will be wrong. And it’s extremely overpriced for what it is.

Love breakfast here. Wait times are longer, but the staff is nice and the food is hot.
I ordered from door dash for my order. I ordered 3 large o’les and I only got 2. Is there any way that $4.62 can go back to my account?
I don't often leave a written review, unless I see the utmost need for one...
I have been eating at Taco John's restaurants for decades and have also worked at one before- so I like to think that I am a reputable reviewer.
The Newton TJ's restaurant used to be one of the best to visit, but has sadly gone down hill fast in the last five years or so.
I won't be gentle:
The food tastes old. The veggies even taste downright rotten. The meat (usually chicken) is extremely dry. If and when I get a stuffed burrito, it is almost never fresh tasting. And on a side note- two potato oles inside it is not enough. Don't be cheap.
The ratios of sauce/cheese/meat needs to be retrained into the employees.
This specific restaurant also has one of the longest waits that I've encountered. Which usually wouldn't bother me, but considering the food is not fresh, it's not worth the money or the wait.
Please work with your staff to ensure that quality food is being served to your customers. I would hate to avoid this place like I do McD's.

Lady that was working the drive thru was cutting us off when we were ordering. Also we ordered 3 of the 6 tacos to have no lettuce and the lady taking our order repeated our order correctly but didn't type it in making all 6 of the tacos to have lettuce

This is the best Taco John's. We prefer driving to Newton because they are more friendly.

Food was fast and tasty. Workers are pleasant and are capable of taking your order correctly the first time.
UPDATE 5-25-24
As always we had great food and a great time. There is a new drink with real fruit goo it i got the strawberry it was nom.
Wheelchair accessibility: I just noticed this option. I am a handicap person however I am not in a chair so I'll do my best. I make use of these parking spots. At this location these spots have generally always been available, large, close to the door. I did notice a ramp right next to the furthest parking spot.
A big plus is none of their handicap spots have ever changed into an order pick up spot like other restaurants. So I don't get ran over by foot traffic when I'm trying to get in and out of my car or almost park in the wrong spot.

We went through the drive through with only 1 car ahead of us. They waited a good 10 minutes for their food and then we waited another 5 for ours. The guy taking our order was very rude and kept telling my husband we didn't know what we were ordering because they can't add tomatoes and sour cream to tacos. Then didn't charge us for our side of sour cream. He then attempted to not take our payment after rudly saying he'd have to charge us for it, that's fine but take the payment instead of arguing. I'll just drive to Ankeny or Altoona for Taco John's instead.
