Great little coffee shop! I got a French Toast iced coffee, and the owner, Misti, was super helpful in navigating the menu. It was a tasty treat on a fall afternoon. What a great little spot in downtown Oelwein!

Absolutely amazing experience every time I come. The furniture is beautiful, antiques in forms of valuable books and knowledge if you look closely around the shop. I love old vintage books and the decore of the shop. The staff is always kind and willing to help you find what you are looking for. Many flavor options for coffees, teas, and energy drinks. Smoothies and protein shakes also!! All around a wonderful place to be.

As long as old carpet & couches doesn't bother u (or their smell), & service & coffee matters more, then ur golden! (Or just take it to go) ...the girl behind the counter was awesome & made the stop worth it more than anything else...they also have more than an average number of flavor options--including sugar free ones.

We were at the opening and go every so often. They always make us feel so welcome. My son is very picky, only liking lemonade or hot chocolate from coffee places. It was almost 90 outside and we had a lot planned for the day so we stopped in for drinks. Unfortunately they were out of lemonade and she offered to have him try a drink on the house so he would try something new. He ended up loving it and we will add it into his very small list of drink choices when we are out! Love the owner. She's always fun to chat with for a few minutes and works her butt off for the place.
We also ended up leaving with a cute hand made Giraffe for our 7 month old girl. All were happy on the way out.
Kid-friendliness: Has small toys around for kids to play with while they wait. Also lots of candles to smell and crafts to look at.
I can not say enough good things about Blackbird Coffeehouse. Every time I come in my drink is consistent and delicious! All the baristas are so nice and make me feel welcome.
Parking: Giant parking lot behind the business and street parking in front.
I tried this coffee shop because I forgot to make mine one morning, but.....it was not good at all. Coffee was not great and they overloaded it with syrup. I ended up throwing it away. Won't be back. Did like that the place used to be a jewelry shop and has a vault in it. Otherwise, decor is pretty dated and looks like they have local crafters selling their stuff there.
