The food was good with generous portions. That was the highlight.

Waiting almost an hour to get the food, in a packed dining room with gobs of small children who were tired of waiting was not.
Cassie is the best employee here—they should really hire some more kitchen help to make her job easier. And train some others to serve and refill coffee.

Great food & large portions. Lol, "quaint" little place of the beaten path. Good variety of AM drink options too

An awesome little restaurant. We ate breakfast and everything was delicious. The cinnamon rolls were so big. They were good tasty too. Such a neat experience in Lake Okoboji.

We personally had amazing service, but we were only there for a drink. We were warned ahead of time there was a very long wait for food. If you plan on eating there, get there early. Their Bloody Mary is Great!!

Wow, I don't think enough places like this exist. It was our first visit and we are not locals, but it is a small diner feel where the regulars were getting hugs from the waitress who was asking how their mom was doing. Small little diner, but big on atmosphere and portions. We enjoyed our breakfast and the people watching!

I don't know if it was the manager or the chef or something but there's this lady who's always at the cashier who isn't very nice also there's like no parking and you have to wait an hour to get food their food is decent And I know they can't control the too many people there because in the '60s and '40s they didn't have much people there It is very well decorated though

Food takes 2 hours to come out maybe if your a local you'll get served appropriately but seems to me that locals get served first and outsiders come last. Waited 2 hrs and they still had the audacity to make us pay full price. Other tables who sat 20min after where served first and left before we even finished our food. Foods alright but is compared to Dennys with a 2hr wait.

Waited an hour and a half for food and it wasn’t busy at all. Food came out and wasn’t good at all. Too bad for a place that’s been here for years

Parking is always an adventure, but the food is worth the walk if needed. Food is very very good, the cinnamon rolls are fabulous!!

Don't go unless you have 1.5-2 hours. Takes a long time to get your food, but it's worth waiting for!

Disappointed...I am a Celiac allergy person. So as others in my situation know, eating out always requires research. And we find somewhere that advertises GF, it is very exciting! So we got up early to try and beat the Saturday AM crowd in Okoboji. We were at this restaurant by 8 am...I was SO excited to have my GF pancake, for $7.00 also. The waitress came back and said, We just ran out of GF pancakes.....WHAT...8 am on a Saturday in a resort town...??? So I ended up with an egg....? Also, service and food took forever...we were there for 2 hours...maybe take the GF off of your menu

I unfortunately just had a poor experience here. My family and I were excited to try this place. It looked like great food and a fun atmosphere when we walking in. That was as far as the good experience went. The service was slow, which was fine as it seemed like a busy time for breakfast. When we were finally helped, an older woman put our name down to get a table. We went outside to wait, but I was curious if they knew how long the wait would be. I went back in and asked the same woman if she had a timeline for when we could be seated. I was met with a very sharp and crabby response of “there is no timeline” and she shoved her notepad in my face and said “these are the people in front of you.” Then she proceeded to ignore me and move onto other people behind me. I asked her to cancel our name. The people behind us witnessed the interaction and left as well. Good luck to this restaurant. My large extended family and I have vacationed here for decades. I will be sharing my experience and not recommend this establishment.

Go early, prepare for a long wait. Service is hit or miss. Wait for food after being seated can take over an hour. Other times, can be quick. Great historic building and restaurant. Food has never disappointed.
