Very slow service (with only 4 other people in the restaurant), but good food. Be assertive and flag your server down.

Best restaurant food we have eaten in a while. Everything was excellent. The soup, the fish and chips, the pretzels, Shepherds pie, and the bread with honey butter just to name a few of the delights we enjoyed. Great service, great atmosphere, and good prices. Overall great food!

We arrived early, greeted personally by owner, had a lovely waitress who took our order timely, and enjoyed delicious food… shepherd’s pie, Celtic salad, and soda bread with honey butter. Servings a smidge small but was fine with me. Felt like a home cooked meal!

This is an Irish gem of a restaurant in Oskaloosa. Good selection of drinks, several Irish based dishes like Shepards Pie, Ruben Pie and Fish and Chips. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The Irish cream and chocolate explosion were a great ending to the experience. Will definitely be back to try more menu items.

Walked out after being ignored at the bar. Finally ordered a beer, then bartender started on new restaurant drink orders instead of pouring the freakin beer.
Horrible.
Don't waste your money.
We've tried 3 times and have nothing positive to say.
Lock up and save the planet!

I’m guessing the people who highly recommend this place are Musco higher ups & have to praise it to make Musco look good? Sound about right? Not authentic Irish anything. This literally was Applebee’s freezer food with an Irish title. Food was, again, freezer junk. Vankamp’s freezer battered fish filets are better. Service was nonexistent & the atmosphere might have well been a coffee shop vibe. As a person who tips quite well because that’s part of the waitstaff’s pay and never want to see them fail, I didn’t tip. Server did not come check drinks once, we had to flag her down as she stood at the counter (it wasn’t busy). Server didn’t try to engage at all & felt like she didn’t want to be there. Literally the worst restaurant I have ever been too. This was not Irish food and not worth paying for. Also, if soda bread takes so long to make you should be making it ahead of time or take it off the dinner menu. PO Box & Tasos it is!
Fantastic food! Had the Shepards pie, pretzels w/beer cheese and fish and chips. All great. Owner stopped and asked how everything was, told us the story of how Bridget’s came to be, very nice lady.

Beer price is extremely high! Food was ok but not great! $62.00 for 2 people is way to much for a burger, appetizer and BLT .
As a regular of the Irish Pub in my hometown before moving to the Oskaloosa area, I was very excited to visit Bridget's Public House for the first time. I'm sad to say that our experience was very underwhelming.
The Dublin Dipper appetizer of beer cheese arrived in a cute miniature cast iron dutch oven, that was super hot, but the food inside was luke warm at best. With nowhere near enough pretzels and soda bread to serve 2 people.
When trying the mac and cheese, it was served in a similar unseasoned cast iron pot. All of the sauce was in the center with dry uncoated noodles around the edge, The temp was also luke warm.
The mashed potatoes were ehh, the fries were soft and flavorless, and the homemade ranch was chunky and had way too much onion.
The drink menu consisted of bottled and draft offerings stating they had whiskey but was lacking any cocktails or even which liquors were available for those dining at the tables out of view of the bar shelves.
The bright flourescent office lighting detered from the pub atmosphere, and gave a more cafeteria feel. The whole setup felt very temporary with artwork leaning against walls rather than mounted, as if the proprietor doesn't have faith in their endeavor.
