The Port on Lake Panorama Restaurant Bar & Inn

We made a reservation and showed up on time, but when we got there the hostess told us they were too busy to seat us. After speaking to the manager he told us we could sit down but it would probably be 90 mins before we got our food. We left.

First off, the restaurant claims it opens at 12 but it clearly doesn’t as the staff made us wait till 12:30 for a table. Next off, the worker at the tiki bar was extremely rude to our party. She was talking bad about our table making rude comments and we could hear every word of it. If this restaurant has any integrity she should be fired. We were their 7-6-24. I don’t recommend going unless you want to put up with a bartender with a temper of a teenage girl. Sad to see this go on in panora.

Stopped here for cocktails on July 4th. Bartender (Amanda) was cheerful and efficient. With that said, ridiculous that they only had one bartender for a full deck.

Our visit here for a 60th birthday dinner was disappointing. It did not appear that at 6 PM the restraunt was that busy but yet, they did not have enough menus for the 6 of us. I was told that they were out of the first three things on the menu I attempted to order. Had to ask for silverware. The selections we did make were scarce on flavor, small portions and lacked an any type of presentation. Lots of flies kept us company although we were inside. They could not seat us outside even though the reservation was made a month ago with “outside” request.
Very disappointing and apparent things are not the same there now. Not worth the trip.

I guess they are Severely understaffed. After we ordered drinks we were told any food would take an hour at least. They should tell people before they get the drink order. There were lots open tables but no food. Won’t be back.

Had a wonderful dinner at the Port this evening. I regret I hadn’t made it over for dinner this summer before tonight. The food was delicious. The steak on my steak sandwich was perfectly cooked. Not overdone like most. The staff were very friendly and attentive. And obviously the view is difficult to beat at sunset We will be back soon.

Worst restaurant in Iowa. Not kidding.It’s awesome if you want to see a lake. If you want to eat or be waited on, you’re screwed. They either don’t have food, staff, or seating. Other than that, AMAZING!

Great venue for a small band. Rooms book fast when a band is playing, but the outdoor bartenders were great.
