Very mediocre portion sizes for the price. Got maybe 3 ounces of chicken in the Chori-Pollo for 18 dollars. Would recommend going to Cantaros, another Mexican restaurant in town.

WORST SERVICE IN PELLA IA. Went to get a to go order today and called ahead. Said it would be about 10-15 minutes I said ok, came in 15 and 4 different people asked me what my order was. It was rice, small queso and chips. They were asking eachother who took my order and no one could figure it out. The owner came up to me and asked what I had I told him and he was super disrespectful and interrupting me. So unprofessional after I have already talking to 4 other people before him. He rings my food up and the rice was $1.99, queso was $4.99 and the chips were $3.75. Total on the screen said $11.38 which makes sense after tax. He looks at me and clears the screen and says $13.00 I said it just said $11.38 on the screen? He said ya tax. I said um that’s not right but was already frustrated it took so long I just wanted to leave. So now apparently El Charro charges 20% tax on your food😂. This place is a joke and has always been since they opened. Food has gone downhill I do not recommend.

This place has been around for a while. The quality of service has gone down over time. The food is OK, but they have been increasing prices for which it isn't worth. Recently they have started charging a convenience fee which is around 5% of the check amount. Not worth it!
