Stopped in the Windmill Cafe for lunch, it’s right on the square in Pella. It’s a nice little cafe with friendly and helpful staff. They have daily specials and serve breakfast all day. I wanted to try something I haven’t tried before so I ordered the Hot Pork Tenderloin sandwich. It’s similar to a Hot Roast Beef. At the Windmill Cafe, I ordered the Hot Roast Beef sandwich. It was a delicious blast from the past. I used to have a similar dish at my aunt and uncle's cafe a half century ago. My meal was so good that I started eating before I thought to take a photo.
We went on a two-lane trip to Pella, Iowa on April 26,2025 for Koningsdag, or Kings Day. Pella is a celebration of tulips with reconstructions of real windmills. A town crowded with people taking pictures and touring the Wyatt Erp home.
