Took a nice drive to Goldie's today and had an excellent lunch. We had the Mingo Special (tenderloin and hot sausage) and a sausage sandwich, with a side of delicious onion rings. Treated ourselves to a pint of chocolate soft seve and a swirl cone. Goldie's is relaxing and the food is great. Good place for visitors to observe Iowans in their natural habitat.

We love popping in ice cream as we go back and forth from Des Moines and Pella. Great food; love the ice cream treats. Recently they were running out of vanilla soft serve and were very apologetic about it. I personally took it as a great sign. They are selling a lot of ice cream in JANUARY because the product is so good. Stop in. Get a treat. It's worth it. Maybe one of the best kept secrets in the area.
Of course the ice cream is Amazing. Have a bite before dessert tue food is great too. The people behind the counter are just as amazing as the ice cream. Atmosphere has always been mellow when I've visited.

This place is great!However, the speed cameras in this town will keep me, and my family from ever returning. No sense in risking an inadvertent citation for accidentally going a few mph over while out here trying to have a good time.
