Smells bad, like industrial cleaning. Only one waitress on duty and maybe her little brother helping. Evidently seat yourself, there is no sign to indicate otherwise. So I walked past the waitress who was busy taking orders from a table closer to the door. When she finished, she passed my table, dropped off a menu, and advised someone else would be my waiter. Then she told little brother to take my drink order. Once he brought my drink he walked away. I had to flag down the first and seemingly only waitress who seemed perturbed with me for being impatient. I had intended to purchase gift certificates for service providers, but between the smell and the poor service, I think I'll pass.
Nice sit down All American food, took our son there for his birthday. We all got burgers and fries.

Fantastic food, super friendly waiter and owner. Very cute UK decor. It was the best BBQ pulled pork sandwich. Super tender with a soft bun. The fries were fabulous, cooked just right. Check them out, you won't be disappointed! Rock Rapids is lucky to have such a great restaurant. Good prices too!

What a gem of a restaurant. My husband, son, and I were traveling in Iowa to pick up a puppy from a breeder. We were all hungry and found this adorable restaurant. Unfortunately they had their closed sign up. My son tried the door and as it wasn't locked he asked if we could come in to eat. They said, YES, come in. Everyone was so gracious and welcoming. We each had their BBQ pulled pork sandwiches. YUMMY. They were so tender, I think it was the best pulled pork sandwich I have ever eaten. Their fries were also perfection, thoroughly cooked, yet soft and easy to eat. The place is all decorated in things representing the UK. So cute and unexpected in a small town in Iowa. The waiter and the owner were so welcoming and friendly. Great food, great ambiance, great service, and great people! The Rock Rapids area is so lucky to have the Union Jacks Grill. Be sure to check them out. Maybe they should franchise so even more people can enjoy their wonderful food and atmosphere.

We really enjoyed our lunch at the Union Jack Grill. The owner is from the UK, and the restaurant is themed with UK decor. Our grandson lives in the UK, and we had a delightful conversation with the owner. The food was great, and the prices were reasonable.
