An underappreciated Iowa treasure, offering decades of service to Sac City.

The manager is very rude and the food is very bland. The ice cream has even became pretty gross and it used to be really delicious.

Pretty good small town restaurant. I'm a fan of the chicken strips.

recently stopped by The Villager and ordered a meal that consisted of a small omelet and two tiny pancakes. For $11, I expected something a bit more substantial. The omelet was underwhelming in size and lacked flavor, with a sparse filling of vegetables that didn't quite make up for the cost. The pancakes were no better—tiny and dry, barely enough to call a side. I had to ask for extra butter just to make them edible.

While the staff was friendly, the meal itself left a lot to be desired. At this price, I would have expected a more satisfying portion and better quality. Definitely not worth the cost.

Great spot to stop for a meal or a quick snack. I sampled several items and all were good, a few were fantastic. The opinions I express are based on my multiple decades of consuming restaurants food.1. ) Cole Slaw was good..I like for it to be a bit creamier and a touch sweeter.2. ) Tavern Sandwich was good..I like for it to be not as sweet.3. ) Bacon Double Cheese Burger was great..the smoke flavor of the Bacon overpowered the burger, so no bacon next time.4. ) Pepsi Shake was amazing..even though not on the menu and my server had never made one, she produced a perfect one.5. ) The Onion Rings were fantastic !! I will order with light salt next time.I will absolutely be back next time I pass by..lots more goodies on the menu to sample.

I’ve gone at least 5 times and it was great every time. It only took 10 minutes for hot food the last time I went. Best pork tenderloin I’ve had.

It took over an hr to get our food. They had forgotten we existed! Watch 2 tables of people eat and leave that come in after us. Got food and it was made in such a hurry that the peppers and onions were still hard. The gravy tastless. Won't be back!
