Kalmes Restaurant & Catering

Kalmes does a phenomenal job with catering! We had them cater both our rehearsal dinner and wedding dinner and it went amazing! Jimmy makes everything so simple during the planning process. There is a reason why so many people use their company for catering such big events! The food was amazing and their staff did an excellent job!

Had my son's second birthday party in the banquet room. Jimmy was very helpful and accommodating and it was very easy to childproof so parents could sit and chat while the kids played! Jimmy was very helpful in putting tables up to block off areas and arranging things the way we wanted. Great prices, great food, everyone was so nice and helpful. Would definitely have more parties there and recommend to all my friends and family. Definitely worth the drive!

Went to the Thanksgiving buffet a few days ago. The food was absolutely delicious and as good of turkey dinner I've ever had even better than my mom's I would highly recommend and I had my sister and brother-in-law from Kansas City with me they were totally impressed and we hope to come back next year. Just great home cooking for a great price!.

The biscuits are amazing!

Comfort food, comfort people. Nothing fancy. Neighborly, friendly, worth the trip from Dubuque. I had the Luxembourg Ground Steak. My date had the filet mignon. We both left contentedly stuffed. Even had a generous cup of vanilla ice cream to round things out. Waitstaff felt like family. Looking forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu.

Both dinner and breakfast were delicious with good portions. Wait staff attentive and very friendly. Very interesting decor. A bar and small convince store area offered many items, several can be purchased and brought across the road to be used in the Gehlen House Inn guest house kitchen for long term stays.

I went there with my ex-wife back when we were still together. I had the catfish. It was very very good and she had the chicken. She was very happy with her meal, which I have to admit. It was nice to see her. Happy once in a while. The french fries regarding the Sotos cold. The atmosphere is cool and the staff is very nice.

We had Kalmes cater our 300 person wedding last weekend and I received raving reviews from all who attended. I originally booked them about a year and a half ago and since then inflation has made food prices soar. Despite that, Kalmes never came back to try and raise my rates or give me less than we agreed to. We left with tons of leftover food despite many of our guests making multiple trips to the buffet line, and the food was piping hot and delicious. They are so easy to work with and I will recommend them to anyone and everyone! The ham and fried chicken are the way to go!

Had Kalmes for our wedding day and we had so many compliments on our food and how great the servers were! Highly recommend them for any event!
