“We are traveling from NJ and we loved how friendly everyone was! The bartender (not sure if he owned it or not) was absolutely super! We, of course, had the Charlie Boy (the last 2!) and a schooner of beer. The Charlie Boy was peppery and yummy! Next time we are traveling through we will definitely stop in for a visit.“

“I celebrated my birthday this weekend and had SUCH a great experience at the Shack. We started on the other end of fourth street, and honestly had such a bad time that we were ready to call it quits at like 1030, which is honestly past my bed time anyways, but one of my friends convinced me to make the trek down towards the Hard Rock. The bars were so full they had spilled out onto the street and it felt like one wrong move would cause a fight. It was seriously anxiety inducing for this old homebody - but when we wandered into the shack it was like walking into another dimension. The Shack is an island of joyful chaos in a sea of aggressive alpha frat bros. It was loud, sure, but because everyone was having a blast. It was a very diverse crowd for a small midwestern city, and the owner managed to be incredibly kind while still keeping things moving efficiently. I don’t get out much, but when I do I will definitely be going back!“

“This is a great place to go for lunch or dinner! They are dog friendly with outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. The portions were huge and everything tasted great! I ordered the fried chicken salad and it was the best fried chicken I have ever had on a salad! The chicken tasted like someones grandma was back there frying the chicken to order!! The rib special was plentiful and the ribs were tender. The nachos were great! A huge portion of chips on a big plate and then another big plate of toppings. The only downside is that the prices aren't listed on the menu. Although when we received the bill everything was decently priced its not cool to skip putting the prices on the menu. I also didnt like that somethings were crossed out on the menu. It looks bad. You can literally get plastic menu holders and print up a few menus for the week with everything you have and the prices. When we first sat down we were skeptical because there were no prices and things were marked off. But we were thankfully, very pleasantly surprised. We appreciate the generosity and good food. Thank you!“

“Found this place by simply using Uncle Google. Being a bar food regular this place was on the upper tear. Service was quick and friendly. Beers were frosty. Bar seating was full with regulars which isnt common, in my experience, especially when there was seemed to be about 20 seats. Relaxed atmosphere plenty of TVs with various sports/shows to watch. Had multiple people make sure I was taken care of throughout my meal. Going to my go to locally owned spot when I'm in the area. Jill also let me know they had plenty of good food options ontop of my regular wing and fry order. Even offered to make sure she would throw out suggestions on future visits.“
