Finally, a tenderloin that isn't the same old boring tenderloin. The spicy tenderloin was amazing! Make sure you ask for an exercise of sauce for more dipping

Great restaurant that started as a bar in a quiet small town in central Iowa. The pork tenderloin sandwich was as big as the plate, as it should be, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Nite Hawk was one of the highlights in a day where we roundtrip cycled from Ankeny to the High Trestle Bridge in Madrid! Located immediately off the High Trestle Trail in Slater, this place is extremely bike friendly, and a fun stop. We had decided to visit on our way to the Bridge, and about 35 miles later, we were so glad to stop here. Loved the atmosphere, the overall indoor/outdoor vibe. Enjoyed a tasty burger and fries, good pricing and great customer service. I'll visit every time from now on!

Atmosphere was not bad. But when I went to close my tab they had rang in someone else’s order under my card and closed it and proceeded to tell me there was nothing they could do. They told me they could not void charges and did not offer to issue any refund. Both staff members acted confused and ignored my questions regarding how to fix it. My card was charged double the amount of what my actual tab was and it seems staff is inexperienced with customer service unless you are a local.

It's an awesome place to take a break and stop for lunch while riding the High Tresle Trail. Large menu and the food is great. Really nice place.

My tenderloin very good. One person in our group had order issue & asked about it twice but nothing was done, so that was disappointing. Probably go back sometime. for another good tenderloin.

I used to absolutely ADORE this place. Prime location right on the bike trail, beautiful patio, and live music galore. What isn't to like?
That said, since the ownership change a year ago, they've clearly been aggressively cutting costs, and it's showing in the quality of the food. I've seen it continue to get worse and worse, and it came to a crux a few weeks back when my fiance was delivered "nachos" that were essentially chips topped with some shredded cheese, and my sandwich came cold, verging on inedible. Thankfully the service is still strong, though I worry for that as well if this cost cutting continues.
I'll still stop here for the drinks and good vibes, but will be biking to Madrid or Ankeny whenever I want food.
