Was our favorite place for Mexican in the lakes area…stopped yesterday and there was a sign on the door that said they were closed. There’s also a shutoff notice for a delinquent water account stuffed in the door, so I’m thinking they might be closed for good. Too bad, we liked it.
Great place to eat. Its better to go when its not so busy. Or you will be waiting quite a while for your food and drinks.
Kid-friendliness: High chairs available. Kids meals available
The food and service we ok. Do not order ice water. I am not sure what they are doing to it but it tastes awful. We tried the tap water from our hotel just down the road and it was ok there so I doubt it is coming from the source.
The food was really good and service was friendly. Would definitely go again.
First time visit and we will be back. The best Mexican we have had in iowa in the 4 years since we moved back.
Walked in and walked out! We went on a not so busy day, it felt as if I was walking into a funeral! Dark room and dead silent. We stood in the front on the door to be seated as the waitress walked by with a plate of food, she looked at us, rolled her eyes, didn’t even bother to give a greeting and turned her face as if she was upset someone had just walked in. Never going there ever again!! Poor service and mediocre food. Skip it all together.
Service was pretty bad. Took forever for food to come. Not the nicest people either but food was alright. Atmosphere was not the great.
Bad first impression. Waitress was nice, atmosphere was alright, but the food was not. Granted I wasn’t too hungry so all I tried were the Beef Nachos but jeez they were repulsive. Just a plate of slop, beef was nasty, way too much “cheese” and every chip was soggy when it got to the table. I’d hope the other food is better but I feel like it’s pretty hard to screw up nachos.
Are here a few weeks ago and the owner was still as rude as years ago. She does not know how to run her business efficiently or know how to treat her employees. Rumors going around she doesn’t even pay her workers most the time? the owner has no respect or decency to anyone around her or in her restaurant. Definitely won’t be returning again.
Nice place. Prices aren't bad and food is good. Maybe a little small if you have large group

Excellent service and great food. Tried the El Paso Steak and it was huge, cooked perfectly and mighty tasty
We visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was not overly busy. Our service was exceptional. I had the lost Los Lago's salad and it was wonderful. It was fresh and crispy and there is a lot of meat on it white fish imitation crab and shrimp. Our server was very attentive and checked on us multiple times. The margaritas were delicious. It was a wonderful evening out on a Sunday night
Food was great as always, service was prompt and polite. Hardly any wait time till food was served after placing order, had margaritas with dinner and they were very good. Highly recommend
Ribeye steak smelled bad and was half gristle. Only one type of steak sauce and one type of salad dressing.
Ordered a taco salad and had hardly any salad. Mostly taco shell bowl. Food is good.
