I made my first stop at this store and I have to say please make a visit! This bakery means business! They have granola, rolls, bread loafs and some pastries! Their prices are very fair. I will tell friends, family and coworkers to shop here. Support local!

I am writing this review because of disappointment. I am hopeful something will be rectified. I have bought the Chocolate Lovers granola for a long time. I was out of the country for a few months and when I came back I bought some. I was craving it. I love it!! I was so disappointed that there is clearly fewer chocolate chunks in the granola than there used to be. Was this a fluke? Please tell me it was. It cannot be called Chocolate Lovers with so little chocolate.

I am fairly new to the Des Moines area, but what I do enjoy is the small town charm in a big city, which includes finding a local bakery to get fresh bread. I found this charming bakery named Big Sky Bread near my home and finally found what I've been searching for! The parking lot is to the left of the bakery, and when you enter, there are a few racks of bread loaves, homemade granola, local jam/honey, and pastries. I tried the Italian loaf, German rye sliced bread, their very own pop tarts, and cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. I forgot to take a picture, but they were all very beautifully made. The owner/cashier Terry was kind and let me know they also have a booth in the Downtown Farmer's Market in May. I am excited to return again for a restock in the near future. Thanks, Terry!

This hidden gem is the most amazing bakery you’ll find in Central Iowa! Locally and family owned, their breads, pastries, and especially the granola are always fresh and delicious! Their product is available in some grocery stores, however they’re conveniently located in Urbandale, so a quick drive to buy straight from the source is the better choice! You won’t regret the visit, because you’ll find a friendly/helpful staff and very pleasant owners who are always accommodating with orders and customer service!

Wow. Have driven by this place hundreds of times and never stopped. Got a loaf of the French peasant bread at HyVee the other day, and I’m addicted to it. I’ve eaten it plain, toasted, with butter, without butter, as a sandwich, as a grilled cheese sandwich, as a snack, as a meal, you name it. Just. Plain. Delicious. If this bread was a person, it would be my new best friend. Highly recommend.
I tried their rye bread a couple weeks ago and now I visit them at the farmers market weekly. Absolutely amazing quality and the staff is very welcoming.
