Food was decent, they aren't making cinnamon rolls anymore because they are closing on the 28th.

We were there to have lunch but was told after the wait staff doubl e checked info....on Sundays they only do breakfast. But a larger party came in and was served a burger. Service was terrible...no butter on toast...guest at next booth wanted sugar...no packets so she brought him a bowl of sugar. Didn't have cinnamon rolls as advertised...our server kept leaving the restaurant and coming back every 10 to 15 minutes. Waited at least 15-20 minutes for check after we completed our meal...the 2nd server had to ask us if the check she had was ours??? I've driven by this restaurant so many times with hopes that it was a good choice....we'll never go back or recommend it to anyone.

Waited 40 minutes for food when they were not busy. Waiter was clipping his nails behind the bar. Our booth and the restaurant were dirty. Food was fine but I wouldn't recommend going here.

Excellent food and service. A definite hidden gem in Urbandale.
The food was okay. Service was slow, the place could use a deep cleaning.
The bathrooms need major attention. Paper towel dispenser didn't work, they left a roll of paper towels on the grab bar. The men's bathroom was out of order so the men had to use the women's bathroom. Not a fan of this place.

Just a great locally owned cafe where you sit and wait for great food. Be patient it is worth the wait. Friendly service and an old school small town vibe where no one rushes to leave. Never overcharged and always leave full.

nothing special but OK
No wait for a table of 7 on Mother’s Day which was wonderful. Long wait for our food, which seemed weird for having only 4 other tables of customers. We had to ask 4 times for refills on coffee, food arrived and we had to ask for silverware. One order was wrong, 2 of the orders have wax like paper underneath the food. The sausage tasted bad. I can honestly say I will never go back. Hate to see it when it’s busy
Had the Cozy Mess with gravy! Excellent choice. Always a great place for breakfast. Friendly, fast staff!
The food was not good. I ordered the breakfast special. Eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast. The eggs tasted bad, the hashbrowns were too crispy, and the bacon looked like it was just reheated. My coffee tasted bad, they lacked condiments on the table and napkins. I had to grab ketchup and hot sauce from another table. The waiter sat in front of me to take my order. That was very uncomfortable and unprofessional to say the least.

Family owned and operated diner. Food is exceptional, service is amazing! We love breakfast here! My husband doesn’t eat pork and they are always super accommodating to make changes, etc so that he feels seen and respected. At the end of the day let’s put our money in our neighbor’s pocket- not a corporation.
The restaurant was not well put together. Mismatched condiments, missing condiments, multiple TVs that really detracted from the experaince....but the food was AMAZING. And that's what counts, right?
A basic cafe. All the usual American cafe breakfast and dinner plates.
Miguel does a great job and hot food is served quickly.

Food was fantastic - the young man (the only one who seemed to be working) was trying very hard but the others (two adults) sat behind the bar fixed to their phones ignoring customers. Condiments on the tables were mostly empty and the place is lacking attention to detail.
