My husband and I had traveled from Ohio to near Urbandale to visit family and while staying at a nearby hotel, wanted a place for a drink and wind-down. Beerhouse was recommended by hotel desk clerk. We went back after our first night's experience. The (younger) staff behind the bar was excellent; personable, knowledgable, hard-working and a benefit to this establishment. Made great suggestions for food

Good food, but they didn't have iced tea and the waiter encouraged us to get our own refills. Not sure what kind of tip they were expecting. Wasn't busy, but the food was pretty good.

Not Wild about the 100 percent order from QR set up. Last visit the food was so salty couldn’t eat… sad because this is a restaurant/bar within crawling distance of my home. Wish it were better and this would be a regular stop for my family.
There was very little interaction with staff. You order through your phone, the food and drinks were delivered to our table and that was it. We couldn’t ask about anything on the menu nor did anyone come back to ask if our food or drinks were okay. As we ordered drinks the dirty glasses just sat on our table and never cleared. The only thing the person who delivered the food and drinks asked is who gets what food and drink? The food was good and the cost wasn’t bad.

Interesting concept. The Beerhouse is mainly self serve. You choose a table and there is a QR code on the table. Scanning the code opens a page where you can order food and drinks. Once complete you place your order and can choose to keep your tab open or close it. A server then brings you the food and drink. The service and time between ordering and getting food was very quick! The food itself was also quite tasty! I was with a group of people and we had a selection of appetizers and pizza, all of which were delicious. The downside is that nobody follows up with your table. We had to ask for plates, silverware, and napkins. Even had to “order” a refill for a glass of water. Overall the experience was good (awesome patio option for nice days), but it just felt a bit disconnected from typical restaurant experiences.
Our group was not quite sure of what to think of this place.
30-minute wait for food on a slow night, self-serve drinks in disposable cups. Nobody greets you at your table or asked if we wanted a paper menu. The prices are debatable. Lol, and then the online ordering system asked if we wanted to tip.

I'm not sure who's managing this place but should be fired. A group of us had lunch yesterday. Food was terrible. No flavor. No service from anyone. I didn't appreciate having to order my own food on your app and get my own beverage. No one bothered to clear any of the long tables near us so had so view and smell old food our entire time there. The outer apperiance looks like a nice place to eat. We were wrong and very disappointed!
