Paid 24$ for chemical & old tasing rice- vinton needs more places to eat, we won’t be back. Owner needs to work on her customer service skills over the phone - rice sucks taste OLD EVERY TIME

My family and I eat here often, for their food is amazing and their service is even better. We always get a very energetic and friendly greeting and never have anything wrong with our orders. You can always tell that their food is cooked well and is always fantastic. Over all, I don't see anything wrong with Lotus, and think it provides a plausible dining experience.

The food is good but the service is really slow. Be prepared to really wait. Do not be in a hurry. The fried rice is really good and it’s in downtown Vinton which is picturesque.

We read some reviews and coincided this mealtime with an open house event in town, My wife and I love Chinese food and trying different venues. IN summary, the two dishes we had Saturday, June 7 at the Lotus were two of the most delicious Chinese meals we have had in years. MY General Tso's chicken (white meat) accompanied my wife's Hunan Chicken. Prefaced with Hot and Sour soup plus our egg rolls, absolutely the most flavorful meals we've had in a long-long time. The owner was so friendly and cheerful, yes she was rather loud, but with my hearing loss and her enthusiasm the Lotus is a must stop. We live near Ames, Iowa. Nothing we've tasted in Ames matches what treat we ate in Vinton.

First, the food is very good. No complaints. But the waitress is loud, and she's not afraid to speak her mind. She actually yelled at my friend for ordering this and not that. My friend and I were both uncomfortable and embarrassed by the scene--and my friend ended up eating what the waitress thought she should have and not what she had originally ordered! I've never seen anything like it!

I tell people that we moved back to Iowa because of Lotus restaurant 😅. I have never been disappointed with the food, ever. Vinton is a small town, with tons of options! So happy to be back and....great Chinese food. The take out wait time can be long, on Friday & Saturday night, plan ahead....it's worth the wait!
