“Went on a holiday Sunday night. Place was busy.

Two servers working hard.

We sat out on the patio and had beers and pizza. The bacon cheese fries were great. The pizza was great. Beautiful night, cold beer, good food. Tough to beat.”

“We attended husband’s 8th grade Trinity Lutheran reunion and we had a really great time. Music band started playing at 8p and was not deafening. And people were dancing. Good bar food. A lot of people were there. Good family place too!!”

“The only thing nice about this visit was the lady working the gift shop. Who came over and told the kids there was something for them to find in the gift shop and gave them a paper to write Santa a letter. The guy setting people gave us no estimate of time for how long it was gonna take . We waited and hour and 10 minutes. After we were sat we asked the waitress if we could put our food order in because we knew what we wanted and we didn't want to wait any longer. She rudely said can I just get the drinks , then after we gave her the drink orders she asked for the food order. She could have poileltly told us she had to put the drinks in first to go ahead with the order. My daughter got a sprite it was out of syrup tasted like just carbonated water we let the waitress know . She rudely told us will that just how it is so that's how its gonna taste. So fine get her a root beer then but also what the heck. Wait like another 25 minutes nothing. Doesn't come back with my daughter's replacement drink or the alcohol drink my friend had ordered ..finally we just decided to go up and pay for the drinks we had got and leave went up front to do so. An the guy told us we could just leave , and followed us out , utterly terrible service. Sharing this here since the owner decided to lie when responding to my review. No wait time was ever given. No one ever slammed there fist down an the waitress was beyond rude telling us can I just get the drinks when we told her we wanted to place our orders. She was rude when we told her the syrup was out on my daughter's drink and her response was well thats just how it comes out of of the machine so that's how its going to be .That was her response literally word for word for word . To us telling her it was out and needed to be changed .Was i can get u another one but it going to come out of the same machine. Thats why we had let her know it was out of syrup so someone could change it. Then not only did 25 minutes pass with her not bringing my daughter a replacement sprite or even a root beer because I had even said fine she will just take a root beer then . Before we decided to just leave. An pay for our drinks we. We went up to the front the guy told us we could just leave and followed us to the door while telling us merry Christmas. I hope they train there waitress better on how to be polite an talk to customers the response to be told a soda is out of syrup should not be well that just how it comes out of the machine so that's just how its gonna taste it should be let me fix that or if u don't know how to fix it then say that and give the option for them to choose a different drink.”

“We love this place, Its a hidden gem in a stripe mall. You would never think such a good super nice, clean restaurant would be in there. We Live in Waterloo so this is our treat when we come to Cedar Rapids. The service here is always fantastic! The food is so good and you get nice size portions, for me they are actually huge because I don't eat much. The rolls are to die for and I personally love their salads. I like the small croutons they use, so much easier to eat. I actually think they would do much more business if they had their own stand a lone restaurant.”

“I was waiting for my car to be ready for pickup at a friend’s mechanic shop and I walked into SuYu Pei on 16th Ave SW for lunch at 1:15 today (Thursday) and was greeted immediately and told I could sit wherever I’d like. Not even 20 seconds later my waiter, Leo, showed up and told me about the lunch specials: For $10, you can choose from a large list of lunch items, each including an entree, side of rice, and a cheese Rangoon! He could tell I was stuck with all of the choices so he asked me what kinds of things I normally liked and recommended his favorite dish, so that’s what I chose. I ordered the Sichuan with chicken, but you can also order it with beef, shrimp or tofu. I’m not lying when I say the food came out, piping hot, in about three minutes. Anyone who knows me knows I love sauce. I didn’t have to get any extra sauce for this bad boy, it was sauuuuucy! 😍 The white rice was nice and sticky, the way it’s supposed to be, and the cheese Rangoon was crispy on the edges and soft and all the way filled in the middle. Leo was so knowledgeable about the menu and fun to talk to, not to mention quick at noticing and asking for refills or if I needed anything else. I even found out that we knew a lot of the same people and we talked and laughed about that fact for a few minutes. After he brought me a box for the rest of my food, I told him my car was getting worked on at a shop nearby so I might sit a while longer if that was ok, and he looked concerned and told me the area wasn’t super great for walking and asked me if I needed a ride back to the shop! Talk about customer service! I’m currently still sitting in the booth at SuYu Pei, but if I didn’t want to be, I could be in and out in 20 minutes easily. With the amazing customer service, super tasty food, and quick delivery times, If you’re looking for somewhere to stop on your lunch break, this is definitely the place!”
