I’ll need to come back and actually try some barbecue as this round went with family and tried the broasted chicken. This seems like a great small town option for some bar food. The broasted chicken was good and the broasted potatoes were decent too as they always need sour cream which was extra. The table had three orders of the broasted potatoes and it all came together in one basket which was odd and slightly lazy. We would have preferred to have it separate. My husband ordered sour cream but got ranch instead. They had the typical small town Iowa beer options (no blue moon though) as expected as they are going to serve what the locals want. No beer menu at the tables. Atmosphere is typical bar vibes and the sound echoes did make it hard to hear others in the large area in the back. Buffet on Thursdays and also a car show on Thursday’s- I think once a month - which is a good reason to leave home and take your fun car or check out the cars there.

Had been there twice previously was satisfied took some special friends there Sunday very disappointed they were out of everything the waitress was rude we asked for fish she said they were out and they weren't pulling any we chose tenderloins and a pork sandwiches the pork sandwiches were very good The tenderloins were terrible Old grease overcooked then we find out it cost us $1.50 to have lettuce and a tomato unbelievable no side with them or nothing were included in the meal very disappointed we will never go back and neither will our friends very disappointed
1st time there, on 7-02-25 prime rib is awesome!!! With salad bar and rolls. Waitress Tiffany was the best. We had a party of 13,. Everyone loved everything they ordered and she didn't skip a beat. Thank you sooo much tiffany. Hats off to all people who prepared food

Ordered gizzards. Got exactly 8 grease logged frozen froozen food truck gizzards for $9.. asked for sour cream and ranch and was charged $1.75 for a tablespoon of sour cream and .75c for ranch! $16 cod basket was 6 bites of cod. A little light but acceptable came with less than a small handful of soggy fries. I called them out on Facebook and they blocked me..🤣 I live 10 min away and would have been a frequent customer. But out of principle I will not be back due to obvious price gouging and not being able to take criticism! And judging by lots of other reviews it's a common theme!!

We learned about Kula's about a year ago, & even though it's twenty-five miles from us, we have been back about a dozen times. So far we've tried the wings, tenderloin, burgers & pizza. Everything has been absolutely amazing. They have several different sauces to choose from & their main BBQ sauce is fantastic. Will continue to return on a regular basis & would totally recommend it.

We Went for the Rib Dinner, it did not disappoint. Ribs were tender with the perfect amount of flavor. The sides were very good. We also ordered an appetizer and dessert which were good. We sat near the Bar area, and had excellent service. Good drinks!

Group of 4 trying this place for the 1st time.
Breaded tenderloin was over cooked or used old grease. Hard and no taste.
Waffle fries again either over cooked or old grease. Very brown and hard.
When asked to see a manager they never came. Called the next day and they were busy and couldn't come to phone.
Won't be back.

I’ve been going there for lunch and some dinners for a number of months now, and every time my food is prompt and delicious! One of the few places I look forward to eating out at! Their broasted chips are amazing and the smoked burgers are always good. The owners have always been super personable since the first time we stopped in. We will continue to come back and recommend them to our friends!

Met up with friends there last night. Medium sized group, 8 people total, 4 separate checks. Once I arrived we were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken. Pretty standard, a few waters a couple sodas, and a couple teas. The server had a little problem keeping the drinks straight, but no big deal. Came back around after getting it straightened up and took our orders. Again had issues with keeping orders straight. Appetizers came out and were not correct, but were taken care of promptly again.
The entrees took a while to come out, but that also was expected a little bit because a large portion of us ordered breaded tenderloin sandwiches. The capacity there was larger, but there was still plenty of seating available. They had placed two trays behind me, so I figured they would run all of our orders at the same time, but they delivered our meals out staggered by about 10 minutes, just enough to make it awkward. There were more issues with our orders when served. For some, they just ate what was served, for others we tried to get a correction. A solution was not reached for one meal with the server, and a manager never came around to apologize and try to find a solution. So we ate our meals, and they agreed take it back and remove from their bill.
The tenderloin was good, easily a top 5 in the area. The waffle fries were not necessarily burnt, but they were dry and overcooked. They had good flavor still. The mac and cheese was also good, tasted like a scratch made cheese sauce. I think I was the only one with even a minor complaint regarding the taste of the food, but it's easy to leave fries in for 20 seconds too long, no big deal.
The checks came and I reviewed mine. It wasn't itemized correctly but it was ballpark the amount I was expecting, so paid and went outside to say goodbye to my friends. This is when they found more problems with being charged incorrectly on 3 of our 4 checks. So they had to go back inside and have corrections made. I can't speak to that interaction since I was outside, but they seemed satisfied that the proper adjustments to the bills were made.
Overall, the food was good and I would say it would be worth the drive all the way out to Walker to meet up with friends, but the poor service is not worth the trip unfortunately. I've heard really good things about their smoked wings and was thinking of a return trip before I even got there, but they fell short too many times to justify the 40 minute drive.
If you're local they'd be worth a shot for a group of 4 during an off peak time, but I cannot recommend the long drive for out of town meet ups. What started out as a fun cruise out there just turned colder and colder as the evening unfolded with the consistent mistakes and lack of apologies from the staff. At any point they could have turned this review into a 4 or even 5 star with excellent service, but unfortunately no one seemed to care enough to even try to turn it around. Regretfully disappointed in the experience as a whole, this restaurant has everything in place to be a great destination for celebrations, but fall too short in service to be worth the risk.
