The Backfield Bar & Grill

We stopped by on our way through for a quick bite. We walked in and were able to sit down right away. The service was ok. The food, well, it was bad. My daughter ordered the chicken tenders and they tasted like they were old and possibly expired. My wife and I shared the nachos and they were completely covered with canned refried beans that were lukewarm and made the tasteless chips soggy. My other daughter got the big pretzel which was good but the cheese tasted like hot wax. I would definitely not recommend stopping here. Council Bluffs is nearby with loads of options. In all we ordered three things and our bill was a staggering $63.

food was great! highly recommend the pickle fries! service was awesome - Patty is top tier and totally made our day! BEST cinnamon roll I think I've ever had! Definitely a must try restaurant in walnut!

It's a place for a truck to park in the dirt and potholes.

We stopped to get gas and decided to try the food at the Backfield Sports Bar and Grill. We’re so glad we did!! The fried chicken and the chicken fried steak were both delicious. Our server, Patty, was friendly and efficient. They’re also offering a new dessert: the Cinnamon Sundae. I’m not sharing the ingredients, but try it if you’re there!

Excellent place to eat.

I read the reviews and decided to stop and was very happy.We did. At first glance, the restaurant was scary to look at with what seemed to be a broken down old hotel next to it. After sitting down in the restaurant and looking around, I noticed the hotel was being renovated.And the restaurant was actually very nice.

The service is very good and prompt. The meal was very good as well. Our server kept up keeping our drinking glasses filled and made sure that we were well taken care of.

Looking for a place to eat while driving from Milwaukee to California. We stumbled upon the reviews about The Backfield and decided to try it out. Well we were not disappointed with the Food, Service and cleanliness. If you are driving thru i would highly recommend!
