I have ordered food from them three times in the last two months. Each time I ordered chicken tacos have been given beef. The first time the owner argued with me and wanted to see my receipt, which I had not been given. The second time, I double-checked with them and made sure to ask if they were chicken before I left. They said yes, but they were beef. It happened again tonight for a third time, and I didn't notice until I arrived home. I will not be giving them anymore business

2 out of 2 times getting my order wrong asked for chicken got beef. honestly if i wanted to eat beef that's dried out and seemed like the flavor was sucked out of it i would just go someplace else. just put chicken in when i ask for chicken not beef.

The “fried” tacos were not good, and I ended up throwing them away. I asked for Tacos dorados for the special (which they offered, hard, soft or fried) and it came out with tough stale white flour tortillas. It was not good, and made my stomach hurt from the few bites I had. Never again. Also, the lady at the window is not friendly, almost rude. Sad because 5 tacos for $5.99 plus tax is a pretty good deal but they were not edible.

First time in this place and I must say that the food is super delicious, I tried the quesabirria tacos and the carnitas burrito, my friend ordered the asada ricebowl, all very fresh and with great flavor, highly recommended

So bad the service is bad employees are rude.

Maybe we do stuff differently in Northwest Iowa but the experience was just not what I have came to expect from this franchise we I've always had complimentary chips to go with the salsa bar but apparently not at this location you have to pay extra for that. The service was lacking I had to walk back into the kitchen area to get the staff's attention the front counter attendant had disappeared presumably to go to the bathroom. Also regarding the presentation of the food it came in styrofoam disposable take out boxes along with a plastic Bowl. My prior experience at this franchise has been to have real silverware plates and bowls. The food itself was acceptable. But this particular location does this franchise no favors. Extremely disappointed considering I had taken family there bragging how great this restaurant franchise was. Unfortunately the latest experience did not win them over.

For some reason they use potato slices instead of fries for the Nebraska burrito but pretty standard Ablerados. If you eat too much hot sauce like me you'll feel it for like 2 days at least.

We ordered food on July 29th via their website. Which we have done many times before. We pull up to get our food and never received it because they claimed they never got the order on their end. Even when showing the person the receipt and showing them the charge on my card. Which. It’s hard to deny because it literally says “Abelardos Mils Civic” for the charge title and receipt. She turns us away stating she can’t make the food because she doesn’t have the order. Which I understood at the time because I understood not wanting to get in trouble for not being able to prove they had an order to fulfill.

So I end up disputing the charge with my bank. Explained everything that happened. Provided the phone number and address of this place to my back.

2 weeks later the bank has denied my refund stating the restaurant claims they have fulfilled their obligations and provided the goods/services.
I contacted my bank to notify them that this is absolutely false. They didn’t. We literally got turned away from this place because they were having system issues and didn’t have our order. My bank stated that they called this location to confirm my story and were told we were given food.

I can’t seem to get anyone on the phone let alone a manager to sort this out.

I guess the moral of the story is never order from their website or have any issues or you’ll be out money.

A day after leaving this review I received a text from the owner of the restaurant, Brenda. She let me know that I would be receiving a full refund within 2-3 days and offered a gift card to me.

I genuinely appreciate that this got figured out and hopefully won’t be an issue again for anyone else in the future.

Best counter service Mexican food hands down. Whenever I fly back into Iowa I have to stop by for my favorites. The rowdy late night crowd from the bars is the only reason this place is below 4.5 stars. Large portions, protein lovers paradise.
