I was so skeptical to cheat on my old Chinese place. I am so glad I did because the food is top their and so is the service. Bamboo House will be my spot from now on.

We typically get the seseme chicken from here pretty regularlly. Its really good. Better than you'd find at a mall or a grocer like Hy-vee and you get a good amount.

Definitely worth going with these guys if you're looking for Chineese in the WDM area.

In not sure what changed since the last time I ordered from here, but the food was really delicious and a big step up from I how I met this restaurant. Keep up the good work, and please thank the chef when you step in (or order).

I feel like most of these reviews must be from people who've never ate real Asian food; this was like eating slightly fresher Hy-vee Chinese, which is not a complement.

We only live in the DSM area 6 mos/yr but Jenny Lee’s Korean used to be here; we lived it & we were keen to taste test Bamboo House, which is now located in the same place.

Wow! We blew past it but were really glad we did a u-turn to come back & try it.

We intentionally ordered more than we could eat at one sitting just so we could try more dishes.

We started off with Crab Meat Rangoon & Bamboo Style Chicken Wings. Both were exceptional. Sorry for the lack of description. I’m not a food critic, I just know what I like & we loved both these appetizers. 1 or the other would have been more than enough as an appetizer for 2.

For our main meal we had General Chicken & Kung Pao Chicken. The amount of food was large for both & both tasted great.

Halfway through the meal I thought to take a picture of it all. While the included pic doesn’t do it justice, 1 thing it shows is how much food was left after our meals were half eaten.

It’s not fancy but it’s pleasant, clean & has lots of exceptional food. We will definitely be back!

Dined in and had a really great experience. By far my favorite crab rangoons, *ever*. I ordered the black pepper beef, received a super generous portion for the price, and had enough leftover for two more meals. The dine-in experience is more casual as you order at the counter and sit down. We had a friendly and helpful service experience. Will definitely be back. Keep up the great work!

So many Door Dashers were in and out while we are here! The food explained why this was the case! Crab Rangoons are some of the best in Des Moines. The pho had a generous amount of meat. They have a wide variety of Asian a food and I am excited to try more!

I brought my son , daughter in law and 2 granddaughters and the food was delish! Sesame chicken, bejing beef , broccoli beef and pork vermicelli. Portions were generous and we brought alot home, plus a few bulgogi bowls for family. All our food was fresh and prepared thoughtfully - the staff was so good to us! Well done and we'll see you again!

Pho ingredients super fresh. I'd come here for takeout for Friday Pho special if I lived nearby.

Also, they gave us a free sample of the cream cheese wontons...and those are just delicious.

I have a few suggestions for the management to make customer experience way, way better. First -- their brown sauce is super salty (should dial that back a bit). Next, as I said the pho meat and meatballs and condiments were great but the broth is just missing a thing or two for sure. It doesn't have a deep beef flavor or much star anise so is just a bit bland compared to the best pho places in DSM. Maybe the bone broth is not steeped for long? Third, the floor in this place needs a deep clean/steam (is SO sticky all over the restaurant; honestly it may keep me from wanting to go in person). Hope this helps.

I would give them another shot on some of the fusion dishes that they offer if in W-DSM area!

The actual food was okay. The restaurant itself is not actually family friendly--it was so hot we legitimately had to leave before eating inside because my baby was overheating, it felt like there was ZERO AC. Our order took a long time to get there as well, an when it did they packaged it to go when we ordered it for dine in. The bathrooms were absolutely nasty. They did give us a gift card, but I don't think we'll be returning o use it.

Food was excessively salty. The fried rice was overcooked and didnt have that classic high heat wok flavor so i dkubt it was made in one. The broccoli beef was fine in terms of its make up, but the Szechuan was the broccoli beef with a red bell pepper, some bambo shoots, and chilli flakes. That is so lazy, unoriginal, and dishonest. If your gonna call something Szechuan at least buy a cheap bag szechuan peppers and throw them in there. The sides were okay, the crab Rangoon was good and the sprig roll was okay, the shui mai was bland. Just put in some real effort, cut back on the salt, and be honest with your descriptions.
