Bawarchi Indian Grill & Bar - Des Moines

I called this restaurant 20 minutes before visiting to make sure they had a specific item. They confirmed over the phone that it was available. But when I got there, they suddenly said it would take another 40 minutes! Because they have to setup everything. They never told me this thing onnthe phone. I drive 13 mins to reach there. In total that’s an hour of waiting after being told everything was available. Completely unprofessional and misleading. If you value your time and honesty from a business, look elsewhere.

Cheap folks. They don't give spoons when I order delivery. Never will order again

We had a lovely meal here tonight and will come back regularly now having re-discovered it. Food was excellent. The menu is huge and a bit confusing but they will be happy to help you. Robbi, who I assume was the owner, was by our table several times and was always charming and interested in our enjoyment. They have a small patio that was just warm enough tonight. Also, the bill for two with wine and a good tip was only around $50.

This was my second time having Indian food. First time was years ago and somewhere else. I know I dont care for curry due to experience so I got the Lamb Vindaloo, Spicy. It was soooo good. Tried my friend's Chicken 65/biryani also, that was yummy as well but I loved mines!
We got takeout and my friend stopped at the store before coming home and it was still very temperature hot. Can't wait to eat there again 😋

Had my birthday dinner here and it couldn’t have been better! My friends and I loved everything we ordered — the food was delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Our server was amazing: friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful with recommendations. They really made the night feel special. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I had an incredible experience this evening, one of the highlights of 2025 so far. A group of us went out to celebrate a friend’s birthday at Bawarchi, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The food was outstanding—I enjoyed sampling several different chicken dishes, all of which were flavorful and satisfying. The mango lassi was also a standout, and I highly recommend it. The staff and owner were exceptionally warm and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. I will definitely be returning, and I encourage you to visit with friends and order a variety of dishes to share.

Excellent food and service

Ordered gobi65 biryani, veg biryani and karvepaku chicken on ubereats. Karvepaku chicken was soggy and under cooked, can’t even say it is fry or gravy. Gobi65 biryani was cold with blocks of masala all over the rice and gobi was mushy. Veg biryani was ok tasting but half of it was large blocks of potatoes. Seriously how do you guys sell this kind of food.Such a disappointment.😕👎
